  • actually those are the dye colors, i also have the ones listed. the colors i used are a variation of those.....

  • he has such creative names for his colors.

aquamarine peacock gold amethyst jade.....not turquoise blue yellow purple or green.

  • Yo, bro. what's the light blue walter that you put onto the T-shirt?? Why did you put it??

    Please reply..

  • @Leephongsavanh Its a sodaash solution to stop the colors from continuing to react and mix together.

  • Do u have any tips for starters

  • Do u have any good tips for starters

  • good job dude!

  • for around 16oz of dye i'll use 8 tablespoons of black dye. dharma trading recommends you use 4x the amount of black. dyes will last a while, they'll lose their brightness after a while and will sorta "pastel" out, so use it fairly quickly for best results. i mix either quarts or pints of dye in glass jars, depending on how much of a certain color i use.

  • When mixing the black dye, do you mix it to the same thinness as the other colors, or thicker or thinner? Also, how many oz of dye do you use per bottle, and how long does said bottle last?

  • wooooow! outstanding work on that!! hahaha i could never do that :)

  • awesome!

  • love, love, love this shirt, the colouring & design is amazing! What a great tutorial, thankyou so much for sharing AND.......... G'day from the land down under!

  • What a fantastic video! Thank you so much. (Nice to hear Allman Bros in the background btw.) I just ordered a kit from Dharma Trading and started digging around for some folding tips. Your video has gotten me even more excited for my first dye. You had a lot of different little techniques (that seem like they'll work much better) than what I've found out so far. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • I have always tie dyed without black, and i wanna try this cos i love this effect! But i don't get one thing-how u didn't get any white(non-dyed) parts? I mean, always when i dye, i get white areas where i folded and tied shirt. How do u do this, that u get your shirt all dyed, and u know-u have applied black over other colours, how it didn't cover it all making shirt whole black?

  • Thank you :) Great video.

  • amazing work!!

  • How much do you charge to do a shirt like this ??

  • What are all the materials used to make this shirt?

  • Dude!! U used to be a sports announcer ?

  • @rostine1980 He's not Jim Ross from WWE.

  • @RYRYYY1 lol...thats who he sounds like!!!

  • @rostine1980 He sounds nothing like Jim Ross, only some of the words, this guy talks more like he's chilling and slower and takes time, Jim Ross is more hyped and a much fast talker with a high pitch accent.

He sounds like the guy of King of the Hill.

  • Well Done! love the aqua

  • were can i get soda ash

  • @twilightrollarblader Dharma Trading's website or Pro Chemical's website....or actually my local Ben Franklin Craft store sells it.

  • whats soda ash?

  • Thats FUCKING AMAZING

  • @purdee100

I actually use Tulip brand dye's, from Walmart, or any craft store, like Michael's. The colors are bright, and hold pretty well.

  • You sound like the guy from King of the hill! the dad!

  • omg if i could do that…

that shirt is so fucking cool.

  • thats fuckin sick!

  • Wow that shirt is so amazing!! I wish I had more than 3 dyes, i love tie-dyeing :D

  • @BatonRougeBill

How long did you let it sit before and after you applied the black dye?

  • @sambeckett4

I let the shirt sit with the black dye on it for somewhere between half an hour and an hour then applied the soda ash fixer. This time can vary as you see fit, longer more black interaction with the other colors, shorter and less black interaction.

  • absolutly wonderful.....from the beginnning 2 the end.....i want more...!!!!!

  • just beautiful man i love it

  • It Looks AWESOME! :D

  • how do you get longer lasting colors?

  • when he put the black in, I was like "OH NO!" but the result was great, I was like, "ooh! pretty!" when I saw it!

  • This is great! How can I commission you to do a project for me?

  • i didnt really like the black, you should have just left it with the colors. but ur good u should put more up

  • @mahaylebrooke

I do some without the black also. Some folks prefer them that way so i do both ways. Keeps things interesting. Thanks for the comments.

  • @traviswrestles562

pastel, most of the dye washes out, the design remains, that happened this summer, i immediately recognized the problem, added soda ash and actually got a nice couple pastel shirts by accident. learned another trick.

  • you sound like Nicolas Cage...

  • what is synthrapal, and wherwe do i get it?

  • @thezooman1234

You can get synthrapoll from Dharma Trading in San Rafael, Ca. It's a concentrated wash solution.
