All purposes, and it is indeed a reliable firearm. Its not perfect, but it offers something that not every auto loader offers. It has 2 big bore loads to chose in .44 mag/.50 AE and they are accompanied by the .357, which is an easy to fire mid sized cartridge.

great video. I was talking to my FFL dealer about buying a used one in about 98% condition for $850 with 200 rounds. It's a hell of a deal and I was told "it's a Jew gun, it's not reliable and you're funding their war by buying one." I was pretty pissed when I heard that. one of the problems with the newer desert eagles is the cast frames they are having made by Ruger. the older pistols are very nice because there's a lot of attention to detail. From what I can tell, it looks as if though Magnum Research realized it was only ever going to be just a novelty pistol so they began outsourcing their frames from Ruger. I've never been impressed with Ruger's castings so that might be contributing to some problems.
@futuresolider96 yes you can, magnum research sells a kit so you can have a .357, .44, and the .50 AE all used on one gun. It is a quick swap but pushed close to 3 grand...

This particular gun I'd just ask "why bother?" I mean, the 10mm is more powerful and a LOT of guns shoot it and hold a lot more rounds than that DE.357. Not to mention that they're all much less expensive than the Desert Eagle. I can't see why I would ever own a Desert eagle in 357 other than that I can say "I have a desert eagle". I can understand the .44 Mag and .50 AE if you're a hunter.

I only fired a DE once before. It was a .44 and I know the owner said he had lots of problems with it. It jammed a lot. It was fun to shoot though. Personally I would prefer the .357 like you use in the vid. I do not fancy too large rounds.

one of the problems with the newer desert eagles is the cast frames they are having made by Ruger. the older pistols are very nice because there's a lot of attention to detail. From what I can tell, it looks as if though Magnum Research realized it was only ever going to be just a novelty pistol so they began outsourcing their frames from Ruger. I've never been impressed with Ruger's castings so that might be contributing to some problems.

This particular gun I'd just ask "why bother?" I mean, the 10mm is more powerful and a LOT of guns shoot it and hold a lot more rounds than that DE.357. Not to mention that they're all much less expensive than the Desert Eagle. I can't see why I would ever own a Desert eagle in 357 other than that I can say "I have a desert eagle". I can understand the .44 Mag and .50 AE if you're a hunter.

I only fired a DE once before. It was a .44 and I know the owner said he had lots of problems with it. It jammed a lot. It was fun to shoot though. Personally I would prefer the .357 like you use in the vid. I do not fancy too large rounds.

perfect reveiw i hate when people talk of this gun as junk. whe ni saw my neighbors and held it it just felt solid it is a big gun thoug and i wouldnt shoot it being thirteeen.(theirs is a 50 AE) but i have a very light .38 spcl and the recoild is nothing so i would definetly shoot ne in .357 like yours.
