Tutorial: XBoxMediaCenter - Adding plugin sources to XBMC

i never did this mod myself but how do you add games to the XBMC T3CH? i dnt get FTP and the xbox's ip...NEED HELP!

Does your xbox have to be hooked up to the internet for this to work?

If you want anything from the internet you have to be hooked up! How else you want to download the plugins or use them (streaming audio/video). For other things you can use it offline, but i dont know those scripts.

if you are streaming content from the internet i would believe you would have to be connected...? lol It actually took me a minute to realize they were streaming plugins too

@Fonduu4yoo Not if the content your streaming is stored on your computer, if you wanted something like youtube, hulu, etc obviously yes you need an internet connection.

a modded xbox is technically not legal to begin with..... that's why microsoft was able to sue several people for selling them

Modding your Xbox is not illegal. Making a profit off of them is, though. Which is why Microsoft was suing. They bought the Xbox to use it, and that's what Microsoft makes them for. Personal Use. When you try to make money off of Microsoft, that's when they get angry.

Mod away, Microsoft doesn't care. Try to make a profit by selling modded xboxes? Lawsuit.

The only thing that happens when you mod your xbox.. your warranty vanishes.

actually they did sue just for the fact of a modded xbox... claimed something along the lines of damaging the brand name

Hey, when I use some of the plugins it loads forever then freezes. I got the BBC podcasts to work but no video yet... I used the Veoh Proxy, any ideas?

When i go too videos i DONT get the option to add source or any options at all, is there something I'm missing or doing wrong.

you need to go to settings then uncheck the box were it says dont show add source option or something... just look at all your settings good then you will find it :) hope this helps...

These scripts that drove me crazy were ones like Apple Movie Trailers and YouTube. There are hundreds and they are all good. Once I saw this, I decided to check every part of XBMC to see what else I could be missing.

Recently I installed the newest version and had been using it for a while until I went to "Add Source" to try to add a specific shared folder. I saw "video plugin" clicked it and thought it was basically a shortcut to the "scripts" section. Boy was I wrong. Amazing stuff.

but it wasn't till years later that I got XBMC and thought "wow XBMP looks a lot better" and then went through the menus.. seemed pretty much the same. Then I discovered the scripts..

In case people don't know. Media center boxes are expensive and tend to require the computer to convert video on the fly to play any format other than Windows Media (like the xbox). This is fine, but if you want to use your computer at the same time.. it is slow.

XBMC plays it on the fly.. hundreds of formats.

This is fucking increadible. I just discovered this the other day. I've always thought XBMC was better than AppleTV or any Windows Media Center Extender or such things. I have an Xbox 360 also, it's really nice to be able to stream videos and such from my computer. People know about this.

But what people don't understand is how much better XBMC is.. for the longest time (when XBMC was XBMP) I thought "great I can stream videos and listen to shoutcast servers"
