I have atteneded the church since 93 and have seen lives changed for the better . I do not attend the church anymore in the Trinidad area because of reasons between me and the new pastor . Actually I grew up in the door, Was saved till I was 18. I back slid and was NEVER told to go to hell,no one talked about me unless it was in there prayers for me to come back. Even when I was backslid I had nothing but respect for the Door, I just wasn't ready to lead a Christian life. Now I am back and am happy to be there, My Pastor is an awesome Pastor. The congregation accepted me back with open arms.

I'm a former member of The Potter's House Church and I am here to tell you about my personal experience, which was a HORRIBLE one.The pastor had kidnapped my daughter and had tried to sell her to another couple in another state.
The irony is the PH wants your MONEY but they do not want the people to advance themselves. They'd rather have this guy working for $8 an hr, living in an apt and coughing up every cent he makes to give the church rather than provide a better life for his family! They want you to work, just don't take a better job with any kind of future. Is that sick or what??
Potters House/Door pastors I knew discouraged members from starting their own business! One guy & his wife had a couple of kids & living in an apt. PH pastor forbade him from starting his business, then forbid them buying a house! He didn't refuse the tithes when the guy became the largest supporter in the church! He was set down out of ministry for disobeying the pastor. Does this sound like a church God has anything to do with? I didn't think so!
The PH discourages any future planning, teach careers are a dead end, also civic duty & military service. They want a self-contained church, teach separatism, elitism & practice information control. They don't want us to stick our head up & look around because we will see the truth & leave! Bogus!

The PH discourages any future planning, teach careers are a dead end, also civic duty & military service. They want a self-contained church, teach separatism, elitism & practice information control. They don't want us to stick our head up & look around because we will see the truth & leave! Bogus!

You are soo right about that...I remember times when my pastor would discourage me from going to College out of state...he said.."it wasn't the will of God" How the Hell does he know? THe PH will discourage you from taking that Job promotion out of town. Also discourage you from buying a house cuss that means you don't want to be a Pioneer Pastor someday...

The Door has split up a few times already. The leadership is very disorganized...the New preachers are not fully prepared or even educated. Don't attend this church if you just bought a PLASMA TV....cuss they will smash it. Heehee....oh and don't tell the leadership how much money you make. Cuss they might invite you out to dinner.

Let's get something straight Cult Boy, God IS in the business of changing lives! The Potters House does a bait & switch, then damages those same lives. I seen it for over 25 years in the PH. Those people are nothing more than a human resource to Mitchell while in PH. He calls them "human waste" when they leave! This is a man of God? Yeah, right. So was Jim Jones and David Koresh! Mitchell is not much better.

It's funny how you view damaged lives, God view's it as CHANGED lives. Praise God for such a fellowship and the lives that I have personally witnessed being changed and are now serving God wholeheartedly ( not Pastor Mitchell) Sorry brother or sister but you have it all wrong

After viewing all 5 chapters of this story I am even more convinced that Potters House is a CULT! Moreso than when I was in it. I have personally witnessed the damage in people's lives from this church. Many of these folks are very damaged from what they went thru. The only comparison is a captured soldier in a POW prison. Only God can unravel the damage. The Good News is God can unscramble eggs. He will heal those who trust Him!!

That's funny! Sure just disregard anything any person says who has been associated with Wayman Mitchell & his CULT has to say. Certainly anyone who escapes a POW camp must be deranged and lying! Let's not forget those from Foursquare who have known him since 1955 who ALL say Mitchell was a rebel all along who never taught the truth in love, always mixing law & grace etc. Let's listen to you!

A multiplicity of the classic symptoms of a CULT are present in this church! Even though they teach & preach Jesus they still use and abuse the members via control & manipulation. The only reason Mitchell hasn't passed out Kool-Aid to his people is they send him their tithes!
