She was always beautiful and always so sympatico the intent and feeling of the series. She knew how to bring the scripts alive so it didn't seem there WERE scripts. She gave Mom Cleaver just the littlest edge and sense of being both wise and observant. She, Jane Wyatt, Harriet Hilliard Nelson, Donna Reed and Florence Henderson were masters are creating moms who were ideals but at the same time had their own little invaluable traits.
I had the pleasure of interviewing this classy lady the year that "Still the Beaver" came out ('82 or '83) and she was a pleasure to speak with! Yes, I did ask her about the pearls and she gladly answered it. I also asked her about Ward always waring a suit to dinner. She told me her father was a doctor...and he always did!
Here I am a black man 50 years old and watched every episode after school. I just thought the world of Barbara Billingsley! Even as there were no blacks on the show it was still the most wholesome and appreciated show I ever saw on TV. She was so sweet, classy, even tempered and made living in America so much fun. A piece of American history that will never be forgotten. You could watch just one episode and and be hooked for life, RIP Barbara, we all love you.
Rest in Peace June Cleaver ===> Barbara you were one of my all time favorite mom's in television history. And the world has truly lost a classy lady and an irreplaceable lady. From Leave it to Beaver, to AirPlane, to the Muppet Babies as Nanny You've left your mark..
Barbara Billingsley...I just heard you're no longer with us. I know you can't hear me, but I wanted to thank you because I watch Leave it to Beaver to this day, and I attribute the success of the series in part to you.
I loved June Cleaver because of you.
My condolences to your friends and your family, and to your Leave it to Beaver family of Tony Dow, Jerry Mathers, Frank Bank, and Ken Osmond, and any who I've failed to mention who loved and respected you.
she seems sweet, and she's still very pretty; nice that she doesn't look like all those kato kalin lookalikes who all seem to go to the same plastic surgeon.
Great Lady, thanks Barbara, you wete the icing on my childhood!
God love Ya!

We should have a Beaver's Mom Day, where all the women wear a shirtwaist dress. pearls, button earrings, and high heels for one day.
it would make a great fund raiser activity for a church or school event.

A classy woman who showed such dignity on the 1950s television screen. We need more American women like Mrs. Cleaver.
RIP Barbara Billingsley
