  • hey!! I saw this machine before, and when that flying machine go down he's Chuck Norris...

  • Okay, so if you reach the 30 minute limit (hawhaw, that rhymed), will the jetpack suddenly start descending itself in a safe manner? Will it warn you before it descends?

I have a terrible time reading anything, so if anyone read the article, please tell me kthx.

  • i can set better record in gta

  • its only like a helicopter engine.. so u can really fly with that..

  • GET RID OF THE DECAPITATING WHIRLY-BIRDS AND BRING ON THE FLYING CARS, I SAY! ITS NOT A JET PACK, IT'S A PAV, IT'S A FLYING CAR!

  • GET RID OF THE DECAPITATING WHIRLY-BIRDS AND BRING ON THE FLYING CARS, I SAY!

  • I'll testride the future jetpacks!

    I'll do it for free...

  • It's not a jetpack. You have a jetpack on your back. This is a jetvehicle.

  • I think it's ugly, too bulky...people want something sleek, sexy and fast, that doesn't fly like it's barely holding up and ready to crash. I don't like those mini-helicopters with their big blades, but I'd feel safer in that and I know it'll fly well. Plus you can get them for about $25k.

I agree with others, this is not a 'jet-pack'...this is a duct(fan)-pack...anyway, me no likey, definitely not worth paying $100k either. I'm sure someone will come up with a better solution.

  • add some wings , then they can fly faster forward.

  • thats not a jet pack.. turbine pack, ducted fan pack seems more better definition.

  • $100,000!!!!

  • bit crap for just 1 person, but if you could drop say 10 from a c-130 and have them carry 4-5 troops each and put in some guidance to make sure they touchdown in exactly the right spot like a busy market or a rooftop that would be excellent.

  • So basically it's engineers with a big budget trying to provide a solution for which there's no problem. It's not more energy efficient than a plane or helicopter, or more affordable, or more stealthy, or more practical. Why did they build it?

  • Well shit, I going to put some backpack straps on a helicopter and call it a jet pack.

  • No more traffic jams :) lol. Imagine the fuel savings.

  • didnt they try to build pretty much that thing on mythbusters and failed?

  • Oh look! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's some jock strapped onto...I don't know what it is.

  • Just what we need in a global recession eh! ANOTHER worthless toy for the rich to make noise on

  • who going to buy that for $ 100.000

  • That's pretty impressive. It's generating enough force to actually go beyond the advantages of the ground effect.

  • Peter Pan is gonna be pissed!

  • thanks for not explaining anything.

  • He's transporting an alien on the back.

  • 1 second after this video ended, he plummeted to earth....

  • Neat ! But what's the record for ?

  • Ghostrider has jetpacks now?!

  • "Uhh, guys? How the shit do I land this thing?"

  • Now it needs to fly horizontal, but i ain't flying on it with no safety parachute.

  • first the army will use this then it will be sold to public use - the future

  • @johnello The army should be sensible enough not to use this. i mean, the guy is vunerable, and carrying several kilos of fuel on his back no doubt. and its noisy. Enemy would spot them and take them out from miles away.

  • Now send him to moon.

  • A thirty minute flight with this, of a 30 second flight with Stuart Ross's Rocketbelt. I think the extra bulb is entirely forgivable.

It's also not limited to hovering above a water source like Raymond Li's JetLev, and less likely to decapitate anyone than the Gene corporation GEN H-4.

Once you drop unrealistic expectations based upon 1960's scifi, you realise this is pretty awesome.

  • @ASparrow1 i think you are WAY too in to jetpacks dude.

  • @Mrmtjones which isn't necessarily a bad thing :D

  • Do a barrel roll!!

  • That's not a jetpack, it's a mini-airplane...

  • Too bad thats a dummy, and its romote controlled from the ground....

  • what record did it brake???

  • Duke Nukem got better one ;)

  • Looks ok i guess, best thing is there isn't any smoke coming from it?

  • One its not a jet and two its not really a pack either. More like a small plane attached to your back. come on!

  • @livefastdieyoung26 I would agree but still, wouldnt you like to have one? I mean come on. I sure as hell would!

  • they have much more advanced ones.... google Mexican flying humanoid.

  • does anyone remeber that old as movie Rocketeer?

  • what's that on his back, fuel tank?

  • Cool, I want one.

  • SOON! Our army of rocketmen shall be ready.

  • It's about time!

  • I love the music on this.

    "mememememememememememeemememememememememe"

  • Do they sell this thing along with the dummy?

  • @BahoUtot no the link says nothing about selling it.

    nothing at all.

    nothing

except that it's $100,000 and you'll be able to buy soon, after extensive testing alter this year.

but other than that, absolutely nothing.

    if only you could read...

  • that look safe and practical

  • 1 Not a jet

    2 Not a person, but a dummy

3 Controlled by two people on the ground.

So basically a really cool RC toy plane, but it looked amazing until I read the article

  • technically this is not a get pack.

  • @dude12nothin Technically its not a jet either - it two fans c.f. helicopter.

  • this was awesomeeee.. just simply that.

  • mind blowing! i want one

  • At first I wanted a Jeep, but now I want one of those.

  • Was that Boba Fett @0:34? :-)

  • to the guy below me. the guy who was using the jetpack weight more than 15kilograms.

  • to bad it can only support 15 kilograms....

  • @MeAmAPeople

The article said it can support someone that weighed 15kg more than the jetpack.

  • @Ricard0dude aaaahhhh... that makes more sense! thanx

  • sickkkkkkkkkkk

  • Finally!

Seriously though, it probably burns incredible amounts of fuel and is about the same size as a small helicopter or something anyway. But I refuse to not be excited, dammit!

  • warhammer 40k any one?

  • This video would have been SWEET if a hot chick in a bikini was the pilot!

  • It all comes down to the fuel. In the future we wont be using fuel, or batteries, we'll just generate the power in air with a mini fusion reactor. We could fly forever, almost.

  • nice video but you guys need to put more into the youtube vids, not just a link to more info in the description, many people will never even see that. Be informative, inspire. In the words of my favourite scientist (apart from myself that is) "what a fine day, For Science!".

  • The blow back on the floor looks pretty harsh.

  • LOLOL it looks exactly like the one I made in Banjo Kazooie.

  • Still a waste of time as long as power lines exist.

  • @Lavinco Waste of time. This is science. God.

  • Ducted fan pack

  • i wouldn't call that a jet pack, i'm pretty sure you cant walk around with that thing strapped to your back

  • so can I buy one yet, or not?

  • NOT A JET PACK, Thats two turbo fans.

  • The future is here people.

  • The manual is actually a hallowed out book with the GTA San Andreas game in it.

  • Is this so that he can cure cancer from the air?

  • this is lame and ugly - search youtube for 'go fast jetpack'

  • Make sure you land before the fuel runs out...

  • That's not a jet pack. That's a stripped down helicopter.

  • @jawayetti could not agree more dude! there is nothing pack to tell about this thing!

  • @jawayetti could not agree more dude! there is nothing pack to tell about this thing!

  • @jawayetti

thats so funny. Those were my exact words

  • @jawayetti Your mom is a stripped down helicopter.

  • I want one.

  • You guys trying to hypnotize us?

  • But a man would use a jet six pack.

  • 00:35 another guy with a different jetpack? Was that a jetpack competition? Didn't they invite me? Where is my #+!#\**# Jetpack?

  • Need more thrust to break free captain.

  • more of a flying platform really

  • We're calling ducted fans jets now are we?

  • That is not a person wearing a jetpack. That is a jet wearing a person.

  • Not what i imagined :D

  • Why not make improvements on the Williams X-Jet instead. It's superior in nearly every way compared to the one in the video and it was made in the 70's!! /watch?v=U-3Ql7G7qRc

  • @p0lar0id why build a normal helicopter when we can already build apache? apache is superior in each and every way.

    that's how stupid you sound.

  • @nepalihercules Why eat peanuts when you can eat peanut butter? peanut butter is so much more tastier.

    that's how stupid point is.

  • @p0lar0id superior in every single way......except for setting new flight record...

  • @outlawkelb Did you even bother clicking the article to see what its flight record is? Probably not.

  • @p0lar0id the william X jet and this jetpack are two different vehicles in same category. it's like saying why make a minivan when you can make a suv

  • @nepalihercules I'm glad we got over the name calling. Anyhow, yes you're right in that the x-jet and this Martin jet pack are two vehicles in the same category. However,a minivan & suv basically vary in their use. The 2 "jetpacks," however, do the same thing and I can't see how the Martin is better except for its safety features, which can be implemented on the x-jet as well. My point was that there is there is almost 40 yrs worth of tech difference btwn the 2 models & not much has changed...

  • @fortissimoX Well Chuck Norris is certainly full of shit

  • cool wow

  • they should make it like a motorcycle, so we can float around and ride it at the sky

  • The "world record" must be fixed because we all know the jet pack that James Bond used would blow this one out of the water!

  • Either the jet packs are getting bigger, or the people are getting smaller. :-/ They had smaller jet packs than this on I Dream of Jeanie & Gilligan's Island.

  • That's not a jetpack. A pack is something you put on your back.

This is an air pressure platform.

  • I wouldn't want to be standing under that -.-

  • they won't see us coming

    up and over

    riding high

got a steady flow FTWW :D

  • Will this be for sale? We've been waiting and waiting for jet-packs forever now!! : )

  • Smooth!

  • why dont they make a jetpack just like in GTA San andreas lol.

  • @Latvietis96 they have, only lasts for about 20 seconds before the fuel runs out though

  • @chillz27 oh I havent seen one

  • 30 min fight time....not bad.

  • 50-100 years from now, we're gonna look back at this and laugh at how ridiculously big and awkward it looks...

  • @kickit246 I am doing that now already mate, lol. That thing isn't even a jetpack any-more, it's a bloody Boeing 747 jet engine with a platform for the pilot...

  • @kickit246 that wont happen, the world is ending on may 21, 2011

  • @Poozy101 Only if you are slightly retarded.

  • @Poozy101 see you at may 22, 2012

  • @Poozy101 shut the fuck up u stupid faggot.

  • @Poozy101 Err, only retards and psychos believe doomsday prophecies.

  • @winterstellar good thing i was jking :D

  • @Poozy101 Okay. Yes, I see it now..you're not the person who's trolling hundreds of videos with the "doomsday" business. Sorry.: )

  • @kickit246 and 150-200 years from now, apes gonna look back at this and laugh at how ridiculously big and awkward it looks...

  • Comment removed

  • @kickit246 we wont be lookin back, we'll be nice and dead!

  • @kickit246 no you don't get it, 50 yrs from now, we'll see this as a great accomplishment that set the foundation for them.

we landed on moon 40 yrs ago, in 100 yrs do you think we'll look back and laugh at moon landing? no, the we'll see it as a great accomplishment which set the foundation for space flight.

  • @kickit246 Not really, in 50-100 years man kind will live in caves.

  • @kickit246 or maybe it will become acceptable just look at the penis throughout history, big and awkward is a plus some times!

  • @kickit246 I agree, just like everything else from computers to cell phones lol.

  • @kickit246 People 100 years ago also thought that we would be riding flying cars by now. Don't have so much faith in innovation.

  • @kickit246 HA! You and I and everyone who reads this our comments may be dead by then.

  • @kickit246 i'm already laughing at how ridiculously big and awkward it looks.

  • @Mrmtjones don't laugh, cause in a 100 years we'll all own one.

  • @forbiddenfoe Im sorry, how old are you?

  • @forbiddenfoe You'll be dead in 100 years! Lol! ...if I get my way...

  • @Mrmtjones dude, at least its some kind of progress.

  • @kickit246 These things were first invented by Nazi Germany. The Himmelsturmer means heaven stormer, it was designed so the German Wehrmacht could hop over barbed wire fences easily.

  • @kickit246 they..

  • @kickit246 Not really. There is a wall of physics. Burning jet fuel engines would cook your ass and the chemical reaction that fuels the cold jet engines requires a lot of fuel and only runs for a short time. The more weight you try to lift straight up, the more it takes in fuel and thrust to lift it. Look at the space shuttle, that's a major reason they are retiring it. Its a gas hog and Soviet vehicles are more efficient. This vid is more like propeller engines than a jet.

  • @kickit246 you might but ill be laughing from my grave.

  • It's also a record for the bravest or craziest man to use a jetpack.

  • @juicebowl It looks like there is a guy on the ground controlling it remotely. And the "guy" on the craft doesn't move.

  • fuckin waste

  • @Lanfeust22 Waste of what?

  • @yermomsboxx one man airplane engine size strapped to your back is pretty much a fuckin waste considering the cost of one.

  • @Lanfeust22 The first calculators were larger than refrigerators. It's part of scientific progress.

  • @yermomsboxx I wanted to mention also that it runs on fuel..-.-

  • nice

  • But... will it blend?

  • @rossexton That is the question.

  • @rossexton

it can probably blend zee blender ;P

  • @rossexton Certainly. Used as a blender it will work very well. :-)

  • @rossexton it does blend ;D try to put your finger at the engine and you'll see :>

  • @rossexton Damn nature, you scary! I mean, did he died?
