@LexeconKiddo I used to teach there. I wrote a letter demanding they be expelled. A lot of the community wants the kids expelled and to serve prison time.
@TCKTBO I want them to go to juvi, be taken from their parents who obviously can't parent, go through intense therapy and become better people. If that doesn't work, I just hope they never breed. They are being charged with a hate crime, and since I teach kids from the hood, it's looking like these kids will serve time in juvi and trust me, they're about to be served themselves. At least, I hope. It'll humble them all immensely.

Suburban kids will talk trash but trust me they wouldn't last past lunch with city kids. The problem is in the burbs bullied kids begin to self injure, in the hood they just bust someone's head open. Anyway, we need laws. Enforced laws against bullying.
Bullying is the most disgusting thing FOR ANY REASON, NOT JUST BEING GAY, but there are better ways to deal with it. I had Jamey as a student 4 x's over a length of period while being a substitute teacher until I found a full time teaching job in an alternative school (now I work in a juvi and an honor roll school). I know some of you don't agree with homosexuality, but this is not the place where you are going to get any of us to change our minds. Also, the nasty comments must stop. However, as using gay slurs is one of the main tools of bullies, regardless of the sexual orientation of the victim, it is important that protecting sexual orientation always be part of the anti-bullying programme. Without that, there is a loophole that the bullies can use to continue harassing and assaulting other students.

@ethyl1234 could be worse, could call the school like me and yell at them and then slam down the phone. I talked to Senator Schumer today about putting specific laws in place and charging bullies such as Jamey's with manslaughter. If you're 18 or older you can call or email him. Make sure to keep it professional and give reasons why laws are necessary to defeat bullying. Oh this kills me Williamsville South goes "we have always had strict anti bullying laws" BULLSHIT

@ethyl1234 Oh, the Williamsville district is full of shit, claiming they take a stance against bullying. I called Schumer today about creating and enforcing a law. He's the NY state senator. Call your senator or NYS governor about creating and imposing an anti bullying law. I also wrote the school about the deep disturbance of the slap on the wrist punishment.

@LexeconKiddo I used to teach there. I wrote a letter demanding they be expelled. A lot of the community wants the kids expelled and to serve prison time.

@TCKTBO I want them to go to juvi, be taken from their parents who obviously can't parent, go through intense therapy and become better people. If that doesn't work, I just hope they never breed. They are being charged with a hate crime, and since I teach kids from the hood, it's looking like these kids will serve time in juvi and trust me, they're about to be served themselves. At least, I hope. It'll humble them all immensely.

@TCKTBO the bullies act so cruel, and I taught in the burbs, then a school for psychiatrically disturbed (til I was nearly killed, literally) and now in the inner city at 2 locations. Suburban kids will talk trash but trust me they wouldn't last past lunch with city kids. The problem is in the burbs bullied kids begin to self injure, in the hood they just bust someone's head open. Anyway, we need laws. Enforced laws against bullying.

Bullying is the most disgusting thing FOR ANY REASON, NOT JUST BEING GAY, but there are better ways to deal with it. This kid should've gotten off all social media (facebook is crap anyway, who'd miss it?) to avoid being mocked for his Lady Gaga fan videos or getting mean comments. Move schools or start homeschooling, or at least keep a low profile at school, like I did. There are ways around bullying, and this kid had other options than to kill himself.
