Thanks for posting this, great intro...damn he's doing great work! It seems that Petrick is pissed at you for your unexpected drop in, but he warms up. I think I understand why you place yourself in these situations...but imo, it would be more honoring to these generous artists to ask first...but then we might not get to see this VERY important stuff...wow a great artist, -intelligent, replete, obsessive, panoramic consciousness...thanks again, tfa
Never heard of this artist but his work is really really interesting in technique and content...looking forward to part 2 and researching him...it's been a while sense I've been inspired by someone's work....thanks James
Apocalypse Now. My favorite. Talisman. I have many of those. Oh my. Petrick's reaction to your visit is powerful. This is such a great opportunity for all of us. I feel like an intruder. How wonderful to be able to see this. Thank you "Mr. Kalm".
first of all, nice personal history interlude. Petrick's work is very intriguing with the mixture of abstract passages and pop/realist imagery. the experience of the work as the viewer approaches the canvas must be fascinating. The progression forward would force a shift from reading the pictorial to experiencing the visceral characteristics of the paint manipulation. thanks for bringing this artist to my attention. i hope there will be a bit more emphasis on viewing the work in segment #2.
That painting behind him, full of reds, pinks, purples, blacks, whites, is a dwarfing explosion. That's what I call art: you must be overwhelmed with awe when you see it that close.

Wow, was für eine Entdeckung! Es gibt also noch aufregende Kunst, die nicht dem marktkompatiblen Mainstream folgt. Weiter so!!
