Sound effects are only 18% at their highest, so I'm otherwise completely open on that. If you remember my "the elusive 11-figure damage popup" in Disgaea 2 and the sound effect you get when you throw something? I'd like something similar to that when the player falls into a bottomless pit. A loud 4-ticks-per-second sound (like that of that robot rabbit being a time bomb when Yosemite Sam returns to his planet) would be nice when the clock is running dangerously low.
@ulillillia Sounds awesome, and thanks for your reply. I'll see what I can make and I'll send you variations of the same so it will give you more to choose from if you like them.
I appreciate your 16-bit music creations I still prefer your guitar/mandolin compositions (maybe this is because I went to school with you and got to hear you play all the time ... and I have a CD of Zeavo goodness ...) Still awesome project. Keeps up the good works.
@disturbedone1130 Thanks, Janus. And yes, just due to various curcumstances, my youtube career, spanning almost two years, has barely included guitar/mandolin drum stuff. Without going into much detail, that will likely change. But as stated, my primary musical focus at the moment is undoubtedly Platform Masters.
Ah! You're Zeavo!, I'm MarioMastar, the other main contributor to Platform Masters. I wanted to talk to you to see if we could potentially work together in being the composers for Platform Masters.
"Bouncing to Victory" (with 98% coverage, your current highest) is going 5 days strong (1500+ plays in Winamp and another 300 or so on my MP3 player) and currently holds the record among all contributions for the highest compatiblity (compatibility leads to high plays). Who's Axel Status? Quality contributes 50% of the coverage. Bounciness is 30%, fitting the theme is 18%, and compatibility makes up the remaining puny 2%. Rainy Ronnisa Plains is the other one with a high coverage, at 92%.
@ulillillia I can't wait to here the songs he has contributed as well as MarioMastars contributions, but I can wait long enough to get the game first. Making music to fit certain areas is clearly quite challenging but I have no experience in making music on anything other then an electric guitar, of which I doubt would be able to fit anywhere in PM unless there was some kind of boss fight, but then you could better fit in a keyboard I think.
@ulillillia glad to hear that "Bouncing to Victory" is going 5 days strong! AxlStatus is the one who recently sent you a song submission for "Jeremy's House" but he has another internet username that i forget and i am trying to determine. Those percentages for quality, bounciness, etc. are interesting.
The actual distribution (I had a mistake) is 50% "fits my needs", 30% "quality", 18% "fits the theme", and 2% "compatibility". Of that 50%, 30 goes toward having a catchy/bouncy rhythm, 15 goes toward length, and 5 goes toward the quality of the file. There are also some penalties which can cause a negative score in the worst case. A compatibility from 3 to below 30 is 1 point and 30 and above is 2 points.
Awesome video, and I can't wait to hear the music you have made that wont be in the game!! I am sure Ulillillia liked your efforts and the songs you have made, but if it doesn't fit in the game then it just doesn't fit and that's perfectly alright.
@foofiter9097 Yep, not all songs can fit, I certainly expect that. Plus, with multiple people sending contributions, ulillillia likely has lots of good material to choose from. And yes, I'll be uploading the song "pillars" that i mentioned in this video very soon.
@TreavorClark Yeah, it should be fun to do these videos, I myself am looking forward to see how this project 'evolves'. I'm definitely at a different place/aim musically than i was when i started creating songs 8 months ago.
Love your experience and musical talent/input and how you wanna share it with the community. Your a Good Man Zeavo!
