  • After a few recent events this film means even more to me now, don't put off till tomorrow to tell someone how you feel as tomorrow may never come. Fantastic film, and what a heartfelt song to a friend David.

  • yeah sing it.

    Hail White Victory in Christ

  • Excellent! Just Excellent. Have a tear in my eye.

  • That last verse gives me chills the way he sings it. Love this version.

  • This is my favorite hymn, and hearing David sing it gives me chills. Thank you for posting it.

  • As a lifelong LDS member, this hymn means so much to me, I have never known life without it and now it has been elevated to a level I can't describe through the talent of David and Sylvain; you did this song the justice and feeling that it deserves. This tribute to "Killer" Kane was so heartfelt and welcome after his sudden passing. Thank you.

  • I love your version of this song. It is much better this way.

  • R.I.P. Killer

  • hell of a film, hell of a song. thanks for putting this up

  • Anyone know where you can download the mp3 of this version?

  • Thanks for putting this up. I just watched the documentary "New York Doll" about Arthur Killer Kane and then went online to search for this song. I think it's a touching tribute from David Johanssen to sing this song for his late band-mate. Very cool, and very well done. A very touching song.

  • david johansen, not " buster poindexter" . show some respect please, for david and arthur. still i thank you for posting .

  • @MrByaeger to most of the world, david johansen is much more widely recognized as the Buster Poindexter of "hot hot hot" fame, than as the frontman for the dolls.

What you call disrespect could be the poster's way of generating more traffic for this little known gem, just a thought

  • @JackalJayzer very good point , whatever gets them to watch

  • A great song. What a way to start the day.

  • I love David Johansen's interprtation of this song! Absolutely inspirational!

  • Totally.........awesome

  • Greg did a great job with this film. The film is a wonderful story of the life of Arthur "Killer" Kane. David Johansen is a great entertainer, his voice shows the loss of his friend.

  • this movie still makes me cry, and i've seen it at least 20 times.

  • I have never seen the film, nor am I very familiar with the New York Dolls, but this song was gorgeous.

  • @rockballew i hope you take time tp watch it, AMAZING story..

  • what a great end to a beautiful film...

  • I love this song so much!! Is anyone competent enough with computery things to be able to extract it and convert to mp3/4? I'm sure not:p

  • @pupsenok thanks

  • The singer's name is David Johansen. "Buster Poindexter" is the name of an alter-ego he had some success with during the 1980's. Just FYI. :)

  • thanks for posting this video i been waiting forever to find this video/song. thank you! R.I.P. Arthur "Killer" Kane

  • Not only a Mormon Song-

    a circulating broadside among

    Saints and Assasins both.

What a curious race we are.

  • That was an awesome documentary.

  • Great song and a great video. Check it out - New York Doll.

  • Hearing Buster Poindexter sing that song just absolutely blew my mind!

  • As a non-theist, i just gotta say the LDS have the best music....

  • Thank you. :)

  • Fantastic

  • This was shown at the end of the movie "New York Doll". It was a documentary about Arthur "Killer" Kane, bass player for the band New York Dolls, his journey after the band's breakup, him joining the LDS church, reuniting with the band (and making up with David aka Buster) and his death after the show. He died of Leukemia shortly after being diagnosed.

  • that was a wonderful movie. the part i liked the best was when he dressed himself like Joseph Smith and everyone thought he was a pirate
