Music is not harem.. well if the music contains bad lyrics and cursing stuf and takig you away from Allah thn it's haram but if the song is talking about Allah and Islamic stuff thn it's not haram... let's be honest. i also listened to music but according to the teachings of the prophet sall allahu 3aleihy wa salam music is indeed haram. instruments are haram. i know that it is hard for some muslims to abandon music but our brother is right today only very very few muslims listen to the qur'an while the majority listens to music and many of them can sing allmost every single song with it's lyrics while they do not even know one single surah from the glorious qur'an. the qur'an is a blessing

What if I told you that these songs you're saying are haram are the ones that helped me more to my way to Allah, they encouraged me to know more about Quraan, about our Beloved muhammed (saaws). I now read more books about Islam, memorizing hadiths, verses from our QUra'n. I guess my point here is that songs haram and the like have an effect on you, you listen to that and you commit zina with your heart, your thoughts, your eyes, your ear, As for islamic songs they do absolutelty the opposite.

I Loved this video its really attaching and the Qiraaa was so great Mashallah its really thouched me ; its good to listen to Quran and read it acutally we have to do that but what i want to say is listening to Maher Zain and Sami yusuf sometimes is better then listening to the other music which has got no meaning u know what am saying?

@foysol92 i dont understand what the hadeeth has got to do with the question, but i think its a matter of opinion, obviously listening and praying the Quran is something thats highly rewarding and is no doubt more important than listening to nasheeds. But listening to nasheeds is simply a matter of balancing your time of leisure with ibaadah which Allah has not forbidden us to do. And listening to nasheeds is a form of leisure which is also beneficial as it involves dhikr of Allah.
JazakAllah for uploading this. I enjoyed this qiraat tremendously. I also enjoy Maher Zain's nasheeds, but only ONE is a true form of ibaadat. Listening to nasheeds (musical instruments or not) is NOT a form of worship, simply an expression of inspiration. I'd rather have children listening to 'Ya Nabi Salaam Alaika' on their ipods than Beyonce, crude Rappers & haraam sounds any day. There is thawaab for qiraat.

@foysol92 i dont understand what the hadeeth has got to do with the question, but i think its a matter of opinion, obviously listening and praying the Quran is something thats highly rewarding and is no doubt more important than listening to nasheeds. But listening to nasheeds is simply a matter of balancing your time of leisure with ibaadah which Allah has not forbidden us to do. And listening to nasheeds is a form of leisure which is also beneficial as it involves dhikr of Allah.

JazakAllah for uploading this. I enjoyed this qiraat tremendously. I also enjoy Maher Zain's nasheeds, but only ONE is a true form of ibaadat. Listening to nasheeds (musical instruments or not) is NOT a form of worship, simply an expression of inspiration. I'd rather have children listening to 'Ya Nabi Salaam Alaika' on their ipods than Beyonce, crude Rappers & haraam sounds any day. There is thawaab for qiraat.

Even if we listen to nasheed, does that make us bad Muslims in your eyes, or do you know whats in our hearts maybe ? Most hypocrites are those who sit with their noses and long beards in the Quran all day and forget to practice what they preach. Real knowledge therefor is not knowing many hadith or all of the Quran but the real knowledge is the light that Allah puts into the heart .
