  • ive fuckin love chairman kaga. he makes it so legendary and memorable. what an epic battle for both iron chef chen's and chef saito's career and life. kaga announced the secret ingrediant so dramacitly and powerful. haha. so hype!

  • i love the way the iron chefs stand and pose there, holding fruits and a cleaver. they just look so serious, but they make me smile everytime. they just look so cute! lol =)

  • In the U.S. we call regular sized prawns "shrimp" and the jumbo size "prawns." Whatever you call them, I love it, and in chili sauce, even better!

  • I laughed to death when commentor said that Zui Cui Chinese,,,that is so not,,,that is the most funny way to say that

  • would be funny if he picked sakai. would be mad random LOL

  • the reveilling of the ingredients this round is so energetic and hillarious at the same time...

  • lol at the commentator's chinese.

  • For A Battle Such As This, There Could Be No Other Theme Ingredient . . .

  • the look at chen's face is soo fascinating. hhahhaa he looked ecstatic

  • LOL, I love how the Chairman starts out so calm, and then right when he starts to reveal the theme, his speech goes into overdrive.

  • I love how the chairman goes SHIMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ebi.

  • lmao! zai seei!!! oh man hes a fob

  • Prawns are very closely related to shrimp, but are a different species. I believe something to do with some small anatomical difference, such as claw length? I don't know the specific physical/scientific difference.

  • "Ahhhhhhh...PRAWNS!!!!"

  • It's actually pronounced zh-wei ch-wei which literally means 'most crispy'.

  • zui cui zui cui

  • umm swallow's nest? i believe its more commonly called bird's nest? :P

  • Well, the bird is called Swiftlet - so the ingredient used is actually Swallow's nest. But the soup itself can be called either bird or swallow's nest.

  • Swallows nests are special. Namely in that they are held together with bird saliva and regurgitation which both acts as a kind of sealant for the nest and adhesive to attach it to the cliffs that are the swallows' nesting grounds. Good quality swallow nests are difficult/dangerous to gather and therefore a rare and expensive gourmet ingredient in tradition Chinese soup, which is also believed to be good for one's general health.

  • The host looks really exciting in this episod, lol

  • wtf is zaaai seeeei?

it's read as a sharp jwee chwee for u english readers.

this is a narrator who is trying to read chinese but fucked up badly. lol.

  • Whats the different between "prawns" and shrimps?

  • Same thing Athropos. Different names only.

  • I thought ise-ebi is japanese lobster.

  • Fukui-san!!!

    lol

  • well, it's just the way food network people translated. it's not actually 'prawn', it's 'shiba-ebi' as chairman kaga says

  • As a proud Australian citizen the fact they call those things prawns offends me

  • here in england they call it king prawn! actually thats only a prawn fingerlings in the philippines!!! lol

  • Hmmm. Haven't you bought any prawns from Coles or Wooleys? I'm sure it says prawns on the price tag at the seafood section.

  • But since half of Coles and Wooleys products are probably imported from China that's not saying much

  • What's that gotta do with it? We're not talking about pre-packaged food here, we're talking about fresh prawns from the supermarket. For example, you can import bell pepper from America and still list them as capsicums in Australia, it doesn't mean anything.

I grew up in Australia, hardly anyone calls them shrimps. The "put some shrimps on the barbie" uses the word shrimps only because the advertisement was made for the US audience.

    Somehow I don't think you're a real Aussie.

  • Ooooh...I'm excited about this one. I wonder why they don't have a Vietnamese chef, their cooking is ment to be the best. I'd also like to see an Indian chef, but the only thing there aren't ones skillful enough and they can work with fish much.
