CHAIRMAN KAGA's the best! HAHAHA!!!always love hearing him talk..why couldn't they just subbed this instead of dubbing it -_- AHHH! this BATTLE IS EPIC oF THE EPICNESS!! TEACHER VS STUDENT :D what an awesomely touching battle :D
ive fuckin love chairman kaga. he makes it so legendary and memorable. what an epic battle for both iron chef chen's and chef saito's career and life. kaga announced the secret ingrediant so dramacitly and powerful. haha. so hype!
i love the way the iron chefs stand and pose there, holding fruits and a cleaver. they just look so serious, but they make me smile everytime. they just look so cute! lol =)
Prawns are very closely related to shrimp, but are a different species. I believe something to do with some small anatomical difference, such as claw length? I don't know the specific physical/scientific difference.
Well, the bird is called Swiftlet - so the ingredient used is actually Swallow's nest. But the soup itself can be called either bird or swallow's nest.
Swallows nests are special. Namely in that they are held together with bird saliva and regurgitation which both acts as a kind of sealant for the nest and adhesive to attach it to the cliffs that are the swallows' nesting grounds. Good quality swallow nests are difficult/dangerous to gather and therefore a rare and expensive gourmet ingredient in tradition Chinese soup, which is also believed to be good for one's general health.

The more bizarre the food, the more liekly someone is going to tell you that it's good for what ails you. Of course sense they're held together by the enzyme in swallow saliva, does that mean it's not okay for a vegan to eat them?
What's that gotta do with it? We're not talking about pre-packaged food here, we're talking about fresh prawns from the supermarket. For example, you can import bell pepper from America and still list them as capsicums in Australia, it doesn't mean anything.
I grew up in Australia, hardly anyone calls them shrimps. The "put some shrimps on the barbie" uses the word shrimps only because the advertisement was made for the US audience.
Ooooh...I'm excited about this one. I wonder why they don't have a Vietnamese chef, their cooking is ment to be the best. I'd also like to see an Indian chef, but the only thing there aren't ones skillful enough and they can work with fish much.
I didn't notice the hat... I noticed they had the same huge knives. XD

In the U.S. we call regular sized prawns "shrimp" and the jumbo size "prawns." Whatever you call them, I love it, and in chili sauce, even better!

here in england they call it king prawn! actually thats only a prawn fingerlings in the philippines!!! lol

Hmmm. Haven't you bought any prawns from Coles or Wooleys? I'm sure it says prawns on the price tag at the seafood section.
JohnWoo 3 years ago
But since half of Coles and Wooleys products are probably imported from China that's not saying much
