I was 20 years old in 1967 ~ had the best friends, the best times and the best girl (Kathy). Remember this song, we sang & laughed & danced to The Moody Blues. These were the days when they weren't quite as introspective, more about just making good simply & enjoyable music. As the years have passed, they have become a bit more about the world and that's not a bad thing. I'm just glad I was around, back in the day, when they just made "fun" music.
The very early Moody Blues music was mediocre at best. Then around 1969 thru the late seventies their work was magnificent. Then they became lousy again. Creative cycles are strange. No one knows why the muse comes and why it goes.
@yowzephyr no it was starting in 67 with the days of future past album when they got justin hayward. tuesday afternoon which was written for this record got back on the charts again as a two time hit in 71, I don't think they had made any changes to it as in a remixing or something subtle nobody can tell but the moody blues if it was any different but apart from the beatles and elvis not too many bands can say their old song became a chart topper twice in different years
@yowzephyr `67 to `74 or `75 was their best period. Their come back stuff wasn't bad, but the later stuff wasn't much to write home about. I haven't heard, "December", or anything after it, yet.
@babachewbaba it was never released in the US on a record only available on an import called a dream i used to listen to prelude on the computer in barnes and noble but they only had excerts of songs not until somebody bothered to upload the whole song in youtube did i hear it in its entirety

This may be Justin's debut on that sonmg and he would be a major force in the band than the previous member Denny Laine.

@moxie96 it was nights in white satin that was a hit twice because a late night dj in california used it as the theme from his radio program

Justin just wrote in his November 2009 newsletter the interesting way this song "evolved" during recording. Thanks for posting it.
