  • funnny indeed

  • This is the easiest sketch to write, but it's the funniest to people who follow Bob.

  • bahahahaha! Hilarious!

  • Ha, it's funny because they said a bunch of song titles. :/

  • I got every reference in this :p

  • not sure if this is funny or not, i do think these may be the two best american song writers ever, what do you think, is this funny?

  • It is funny if you have a sence of humor......You have to be able to laugh at the things you love, or else you become an extremist. Don't think Dylan likes those....

  • Excellent!

2:15 -"Can I stick around and see if he talks in his sleep."

  • Wow! The Dylan impersonation sure sounds like John Prine's "Dear Abby

  • wow did ppl really get those references back then??

  • This is from one of their really sucky years.

  • "Takes alot to laugh. Takes a train to cry."

  • this is awkward....when does it funny?

  • @nikkiejanee1972 Never, if you know nothing about Bob Dylan or Woody Guthrie. (The dialogue is made completely from Dylan song titles and content.)

  • @choad1976

i understood the song puns.....i just didn't think it was funny.

but thanks for taking the time to explain without being mean to me:)

that's refreshing....youtube commenters get a crazy mean sometimes

  • This was before SNL had to hire people to laugh and yell WOOOO every 2 seconds. That's because the show was actually funny back then.

  • I was all ready to hate this, but it's actually pretty funny.

  • a Bob Dylan & Woody Guthrie skit on SNL? Things Have Changed.

  • ".... Oh, the Times They Are A Changing ...."

Take a look around you. In the words of Gil Scott Heran ... "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"

  • Thanks for the comment. I checked it out via Google and you are right about that. Hope her name gets added to the credits so she's not left out with only the guys being listed.

  • This is great and really holds up after all these years! You listed Weathers and Carradine but left out the nurse. If you know who played her, it would be cool to add her name in. Nice work by all involved.

  • @raykorona I think it's Ann Risley

  • only decent impression of dylan ive seen, carveys was awful

  • Simply proof that folk is the source of all great music.

  • This Machine Kills Facists, Dylans: This Machine Kills Facists Too

  • Woodies guitar says "This guitar kills facists"

    What does Dylans guitar say?

    Looks like fa****s.

  • @iDentarthurdent It says "This One Kills 'em Too".

  • Fantástico...

  • OH MY GGGODDDDD!! oooooohhhh!! what's a pitty!! I thought it was real!! I said WHAT? HOW?? But, anyway, it's so funny, really funny!! "Hey Woody Guthrie, I wrote a song to you" hahaha really, really funny!!!!

  • that's a very accurate portrayal even though it is grossly crude.

  • too funny!!

  • Remember when Saturday Night Live was actually FUNNY?!?

  • then he died of autoeroticasphixiation

  • @bostonteabagger71739 Right... and Heath Ledger died of prescription drugs...

  • This is SNL from 1980 with Patrick Weathers as Dylan and David Carradine as Guthrie

  • LMAO I love how the guy playing Bob is wearing the exact same thing that Bob wore on his first album cover! :D <3

  • Cheers to the guy who played Dylan! Fantastic sketch.

  • @MrRobin14669

Thanks - The guy who played dylan,,,

    \

  • This isn't SNL.

  • @seancrapola Yes, this was the '80-'81 season when the entire original cast was replaced by the likes of Gilbert Gottfried, Joe Piscopo, the late Charles Rocket, Eddie Murphy, et al. This season is considered one of the worst in the entire history of SNL. Lorne Michaels wasn't even the exec producer for that season.

  • @KUTVgroucho except that this skit is one of the funniest things I've ever seen

  • genius!

  • this is genius! thanks for posting man! :) And people should not get confused between imitation and influence

  • Who is playing Dylan in this skecth?

  • @ScooterpupReljac Patrick Weathers. He's filming a movie with Will Farrell.

  • The young Dylan's voice is actually pretty spot-on. Clever and hilarious. "Can I stick around and see if he talks in his sleep?"

Unrealistic, as MannyMUC points out, but worth seeing!

  • Thank you for uploading, never seen this. In fact, it's funny...

  • when the nurse says ' don't believe you' I think that is another reference to Bob's song

  • @MarianoJRibeiro no, it's not .....it's when he played live in england and they were mad that he went electric,....look at (Like a rolling stone live)

  • @Nick34Ca559 probably not, if so she would also say "you're a liar" or something, and they are pretty much saying just the name of the songs, i dont believe you is the name of a song. and when this this was released i'm pretty sure that the 'royal albert hall' in england wasn't official, that was just in 1998 ;)

  • @MarianoJRibeiro on his another side of bob dylan ablum ....i don't believe you (she act's like we never met)....im sorry i had just watched that youtube video of him when i wrote that comment and i thought it was talking about the live version of that song

  • @Nick34Ca559 no problem man :)

    keep rockin

  • lol!

  • Funny! What year is this from?

  • Very funny, but as far as I heard, Woody Guthrie would never have been able to come up with any of those inspired Dylan lines

  • wonderful!
