sorry but the original trashes all over the clone. I think byoc should have done some more homework...their pedal actually sounds muffled in comparison
Clone sounds tighter. Maybe it's the tone setting that makes it sound less 'full', but the BYOC's bottom end isn't farting out like an old man who ate too many prunes.
The original sounds fuller in this vid IMO. In the Ram's Head version, the BYOC sounded fuller. Again IMO. Nice job guys, I'm enjoying your vids but how about clips of what we really intend to use this pedal for...PINK FLOYD! ; )
@joesl8 David Gilmour (from Pink F. didn't used this one. he used the ram's hea big muff that's a triganle witch is the first version they have made I believe :) the ram's head is the second one.
David Gilmour used in his whole carreer: Big muff ram's head, big muff civil war. That's what I know:)
This new 4-knob version sounds and feels almost as good as my original triangles (use a cheap non-alkaline battery), and the rotary knob adds a lot of versatility to this great pedal. It simply does not match the originals 10 out of 10 - but it's closer than ANY other clone that I've tried - and that's basically all of them lol. So what's the difference? My original triangles are a little more open, punchy, warm, and feel more like and amp to play. But the difference is slight. Nice job BYOC! :)
@VintageGearGuy im sure this is a componet issue ..im new to these tri-angle muffs (i had the old nyc round knob jobby) so im guessing the parts cant be found ?
Is it possible to make the byoc with Russian/Sovtek black big muff specs?

The BYOC one sounds a bit more gnarly the way you guys have it set, kind of a better grind to it. And I'd say the Big Muff sounds fuzzier.

They should do a blind test. I feel bad saying this, but I lied the BYOC one better.

At the end they sound identical, no difference whatsoever.

I don't know guys, I think these clones are fuller...

BYOC Triangle or Big Muff with tone wicker? Which is more versatile?
Rambo29 2 years ago
The BYOC is definitely more versatile, the forth knob is a 4 way rotary tone select switch making your choices massively more complex
AbeBiro 2 years ago
@Rambo29 The BYOC should have a better stock sound and the 4 way (vs just tone wicker) control is more versatile

I think the original big muff is way too muddy, I'll take the BYOC over the original!

i like the original muff pedal....just cause the beaver has a little too much high end...other than that they sound identical

The clone is cutting slightly more on high tones but it has a very good sound, keep up the good work!

Is this triangle beaver the same as the older byoc beaver?
saladdays1983 4 years ago
i read on their forums that it was a v2 triangle beaver. I could be wrong though, but that's what I remember.
