I think you misunderstand that position. The narrations of Ibn Abbas (ra) state that Iblis was BOTH a Jinn and an Angel at the same time, so it doesn't contradict the Ayah you mentioned, in fact the apparent meaning of the Ayah fits in best with his narrations.

The Quran and Hadith never say Angels have "no will". There is no explicit Ayah or Hadith that says Iblis was NOT an Angel, so I dont see how you can call it "Kufr", always be very careful when using the word "Kufr" especially regarding the Sahabah like Ibn Abbas (ra)

In Titanic, I agree that in REALITY she should have broken off with her fiance before commencing a relationship with the poor man. However, her not doing so in the movie added to the whole "secrecy" and "excitement" of sneaking around with her newly explored love... It did show the rich man as an evil person. And to be honest I don't think the girl was supposed to be portrayed as an angelic character anyway...

Her fiances character was depicted as quite violent/angry so that probably explained why she was scared of breaking up with him. But some people don't think that pre-marital relations or following lust is wrong.

@Zakah1 Even if ibn Abbas held that view it would be wrong as it goes against the text of Allah and the Sunnah of the prophet (peace be upon him). Surah Al Kahf chapter 18 verse 50 the Qur’an says:“Behold! We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” they bowed down except Iblis He was one of the Jinns.” There is no wahhabis group that was my point. Just because non muslims say a group of Muslims are wahabi, doesnt mean we take it and run with it.

I think you misunderstand that position. The narrations of Ibn Abbas (ra) state that Iblis was BOTH a Jinn and an Angel at the same time, so it doesn't contradict the Ayah you mentioned, in fact the apparent meaning of the Ayah fits in best with his narrations.

The Quran and Hadith never say Angels have "no will". There is no explicit Ayah or Hadith that says Iblis was NOT an Angel, so I dont see how you can call it "Kufr", always be very careful when using the word "Kufr" especially regarding the Sahabah like Ibn Abbas (ra)
Yes theres a Hadith that says Angels are made of Light but it doesn't prove anything since for example the creation of Jesus (as) and Adam (as) was different from the creation of other humans, that doesn't mean they werent human

In Titanic, I agree that in REALITY she should have broken off with her fiance before commencing a relationship with the poor man. However, her not doing so in the movie added to the whole "secrecy" and "excitement" of sneaking around with her newly explored love... It did show the rich man as an evil person. And to be honest I don't think the girl was supposed to be portrayed as an angelic character anyway...

@Zakah1 I don't think that cheating on someone is exciting. They used the cheating element to add to the intensity of the storyline. Her fiances character was depicted as quite violent/angry so that probably explained why she was scared of breaking up with him. I'm not saying she's of a morally good character or anything like that so I kinda get what you're saying about both sides being baddies... But some people don't think that pre-marital relations or following lust is wrong.
