  • Pretty neat looking, I experiment with this myself, the IRFP260 mosfet gives me good results, but I never have the 555 powered by the same supply as the mosfet, or have the mosfet on the same board as the 555 just in case any kickback from the primary arcs from the mosfet area into the 555 area.

  • Hi, is very nice!, It's possible to have a schematic and/or a mosfet Part Number?

    I wait your news

    Thanks

  • im not convinced, i wanna see the schematic diagram... besides this is still a video many things could be done.

  • Can you replace the MOSFET with an IGBT?

  • Wow, thats a high frequency arc! At what frequency are you driving this particular flyback at?

  • diagram please

  • Very nice, you should plug audio on pin 5 .

  • @darkthero

    Is it that easy? :D

  • yep! i made this recently for my senior boards i can send you my schematic, if you like :D

  • Whoa, nice!

You got a email or instant message?

    PM me!

  • nice : -)

    can you share your project?

    thanks

  • DC??

  • lol, we've got the same flybacks

  • my voltage supply does nog go higher than 2 amp ;(

  • Where did you get the flyback transformer?

  • And what freq are you using to drive it?

  • That is always dependant on the inductance of the coil in the transformer (actually of the circuits impedance)

  • i just can't stop watching this XD

  • you got a schemetic?

  • awsum

  • Sorry, other stuff: I increased the voltage and with this.. the arcs!

  • I trip and... I can't upload the video.. soon I upload the video.

  • I would drive it higher, but this particular circuit was intended for low-power operation and does not use a 7812 regulator for the 555.

  • Your flyback driver is feeded with 13.5 vdc? Soon I upload a video of my flyback driver

  • I have the frequency set a bit high here; if I tune it down to 17 kHz or so, the arc starts at 1.2 cm at this input voltage.

  • I maked a similar system, but the MOSFET is changed with a IRF830. in 7 volt the arc have 3 1/2 mm of lenght.
