i ate one of these in india, it's slightly narcotic, just a little, you chew it until the taste is gone, and the you keep it in your mouth for 15mins and spit out the red saliva,(if you have eaten one you know) after 15mins, swallow of spit, either way you wan't. helps for headache for example. or tooth pains.

the narcotic feeling comes from the tobacco paan , they have a sweet paan as well , pan parag is also a high , lol.

pan shops in Uk costs around £4 for thoes sweet ones but in indian its really for 5 rupees

no they dont- i live in uk and it costs 60 pence to 70 pence per paan.
