  • perfect tone and great technique. modern day legend

  • Your technique is great and you seem to understand the song. Any suggestions from others seem to be about equipment. Only addition I'd make is that he uses the neck and middle pickups on verses and the neck/bridge for the solo. But that is Jimi's style and copying him only goes so far. Nice tune, keep rocking.

  • add reverb, scoop the mids, but the bass up to 7 or 8, treble up to 5. tiny bit of distrotion.

  • Bottom E sounds a little

  • ok the sound is coming off pretty thin but hey, maybe the guy is playing in his bedroom and the neighbours are complaining so Chill the F**K out dudes! ;D

    Cheers, great job man!

  • Great playing though you come off the rails from 0.28

  • Isn't there a "No Whining Rule"?

  • 47 people probably couldn't play triangle , and don't like this video.

  • Not so easy to do that...early 70s Vibrolux helps though.

  • You need to add reverb

  • Good playing. I am guessing you have the action very low on your strat. Try raising it to get a fuller tone. Works wonders.

  • Is he even in E-flat? Like bassface63 said, thin sound. Otherwise good playing, mate! :)

  • good job

  • Comment removed

  • I stopped breathing the first 10 seconds. This is really really good.

  • rockin it dude

  • sounds like you're using a 5watt amp or sumthing *lol*

Get more BASS dude, add some reverb and a little (just a little) distortion would be cool ;)

    Dado~

  • pretty accurate

  • shit

  • i love watching other peoples covers of this song

  • awesome man

  • get the amp on ;)

    great playing though

  • Sounds sweet and cool..good job

  • nice job, i posted i video response so i can get more views maybe lol..u have so many views, i just cant get that many ever

  • u dont have to be andry at the guitar? you're strumming it pretty hard, try to play with more feeling :)

  • @ZoopperZ Stevie used to play so hard he would SNAP strings.

  • @DanteGuitar

Any body can snap a string, Ive snapped many strings.

  • @mikesta99 And yet I don't see you using bass strings for a low E, or playing with action so high looking at it is painful.

  • @DanteGuitar

Who snaps a low E ? He didnt use bass strings, he used .13 high E string. I use .11's and sometimes .12's

  • Hey! Sweet job. Keep it up brother!

  • Great, but the sound is too trebly

  • Sweet Dude, the tuning doesn't matter cause it was still superb

  • Great playing.

Might consider adjusting your amp though lolz

  • Pro :D

  • awesome

  • maybe let up a little on hitting those strings, ur getting a little fret buzz. good other than that tho

  • My son's got the same guitar

  • no way you simply cannot cover this!

  • awesome man

  • Good playing bro, but you need to tune down to Eb, that is why you sound a little bit high. SRV played it in Eb. Keep it up!

  • Nice, a bit of reverb and it would be perfect!

  • add some reverb

  • You attack the strings with that unmistakable SRV touch...Very nice!

  • Nice guitar bro

  • i dont tink anyone else noticed but...

tune it down half a step and it should sound better

    lower the treble

    and some mid bass

    and you should be ok..???

  • "We" noticed, the strings are a bit old. Concert pitch is fine with me . Nice playing. The edgy treble is the acoustic sound of the guitar being picked up by the mike. If you had played the amp louder (or got the mike on the amp) the sound would be warmer. Your strings are fine and so is your playing. This may sound odd but a longer cable will get you closer in tone as the increased capacitance will give a more low treble peak instead of high treb.

  • use a touch of dirt and dig in with the pick

  • nice job man i have exact same guitar

  • get thicker strings and when you pick really hard the tone sounds much better and more srv like

  • good job!

  • great !!! very good

  • You're the fu&/(%$ master!!!!!

  • what amp do you use?

  • actualy my brother wrote that not me and he was using my account

  • good playin...check out my vid and leave a comment...thanks

  • tone needs work....

  • dude your jonas brother fan...

  • not quite the tone nick jonas has huh? im not sure which one is nick, is he one of the ones that pretends to play guitar?

  • Great, you just need SRVs' gear now and it wil be even better.

  • Exellent version

  • dunno, there's a lot of hate'n going on with this guys interpretation but I personally liked it. I especially liked his pick attack and raking. Better than 90% of other versions on this site.

  • that's great but the guitar seemed a little out of tune and you need more mids in the tone - that's just my opinion

  • I like that sound man.good job.I can do it all but that sound you have I love it.

  • I LOVE that sound your guitar makes...nice! Well played too Cheers...

  • are you serious? that tone sounds like a nvm...

  • nvm?

Sorry I am not so well versed in seemingly random letters. Yes I was serious.

  • nvm = nevermind.

  • your sound is thin as hell! do something about that! your playing is pretty sweet just need to work on your tone

  • @bassface36 agreed but he is not playing with a band backing him up. other than that him playing it solo with that thin tone makes it sound kinda old school i like it. Fender was always best!!!!

  • @bassface36 its sounds exacally like SRV!!

  • A little too fast =/

  • It's a dumb question but does anyone know who actually wrote this song I think it was Hendrix.

  • yeah thats a dumb question, and the answer is hendrix

  • you don't have to be so mean...im just kidding i thought it was but wasn't completly sure, thanx

  • ;) no harm intended

  • i' just kidding

  • not bad ,,now tune down a half step and play the whole tune

  • sounds a bit sloppy

  • flectz

jimi was an incredibly sloppy guitarist. Dont diss the slop.

  • Sounds like the Kirks version of this song

  • nice playing!

  • dude why dint u play the whole song.???????

  • because it gets way harder than this half of intro

  • wow, great video, i can actually see the chords of this song from this video!

    thanks!

  • is that the 62 reissue?

  • Nice tone and playing.

  • Mate well played, nice one

  • your amp to low, wtf haha. Let me here them strings

  • dude im working all over this song right now...you got a lot of balls to put it on youtube, but i'm glad you did haha

sounds pretty awesome :) keep working on it bro

  • I love this sound!!!

  • So many people are professionals on youtube it seems, yet they don't post any of their own shit on here. Kudos to the poster, only a year and a half at it, i think u might have a bright future finding people to jam with n stuff, keep at it.

  • lol fixxele you are a fucking idiot...reading music has nothing to do with skill

  • you have to much bight the tone for that song should sound like a jazz tone

  • Damn you absolutely nailed the song tab-wise, your playing is very good too.. Practise makes perfect I suppose..

  • That was my favourite cover... please could you tab it, or give a lesson

  • you need to clip your amp. thats how you get that stevie feel. you use your picking hand to tightly, pick more with your fingers than your wrist, and loosen up your fretting hand, it'll work wonders for this song.

  • your technique is great, but try playing it on the neck pickup for more of that blusey strat tone

  • thats some dam good playing

  • it toke my dad years to laern that song

  • then your dad cant play guitar...

  • It's a life's work to learn to play like Stevie my friend.

If you don't realize that you're an imbecile.

  • but problem is he doesn't play like stevie ray,.....he plays same song but doesn't sound as good...

  • How the hell do you know how that person's father sounds on guitar?

  • not bragging or anything with it took me like 3days at most and i'm only playing for a year and a few months....but i practised for ages!:P

  • Blues is alot harder than it sounds

  • good job but way too much treble

  • how long have you been playing and how do you practice each day? I REALLY WANT TO GET GOOD.

  • I would add some bass to the EQ, but overall...playin was very nice!

  • good

  • Add some bass, it's good..

  • nice sound

  • lol really? i bet not. you're probably some fat little 13 year old mama's boy who sits in his room all day looking for porn, wishing you could play guitar. sigh... kids

  • frixel person... Stevie ray vaugh knew nothing about theory. it's retarded to say theory's more important than anythig. first comes talent. theory's for the people that can dance and get taught to do it... it's not the same. reading music's not hard anyways. but when you got talent, you don't need to. theory gurus consider themselves so holy... it's so annoying. if you're a natural... that's it. no one needs to tell you to read crap. theory is not a need. it helps... but it's not needed.

  • you know what else is really retarded? You, ya fucking homo cunt. Here's my theroy: you are a fuck head spastic with no dick, balls or brain. YES! I WIN! 1 TO NOTHIN!

  • Ah... the internet tough guy huh lol Geesh... why so sour? Life's been hard on you hasn't it? Let me guess... never gotten laid, never gotten in a fight... always got picked on and you totally suck balls at playing guitar? lol I'm the total oppisite. Hey, don't be mad, be happy god gave talent to others ;)

  • i ahd more pussy and punched more mother fuckers out than you've had hot dinners, my dickless little friend. and if you ever had the pleasue of seeing me play guitar, it would blow you tiny fucking mind, for i am amazing. i am you superior. i am bigger, stronger beter looking, richer and smarter than you could ever dream of being. so tongue my plums, you inbred pig fucker.

  • Cocky little shit. Instead of being a dick, tell me what a mixolydian scale is and the interval spelling and i'll believe you.

  • a mixolydian scale is the smell of your moms vagina. so why dont you crawl back up it and finger your ass, ya cum guzzling faggot.

  • Exactly the response I would expect from a Neanderthal like you. Or should I explain what that means to?

  • yeah, tell me retard. YOU STUPID FUCK! I AM BETTER THAN YOU SO EAT MY SHIT! I RULE! YOU SUCK!

  • What is your purpose in life? Prostitution rig? Selling drugs? Both? Pitiful.

  • ??? Who the hell are you to say such mean spirited shit? Do you play guitar or do you just play w/ yourself?...Stay off the coments if you can't say anything meaningful. That goes for ALL you dickweeds who say the most ignorant things. It really show how "smart" you are lol. -Peace

  • I'm sure lamb can play much better, in Guitar Hero lol.

  • nice!

  • play on rhythm instead of treble, and you'd sound even better!

  • Who are you to call your interpretation classic?

  • u need thicker strings, it sounds too lite. other than that its good

  • nice job

  • great playing! All your notes are clear, good job. Just put a little more reverb on it. ;)

  • fucking sound

  • no one dose it like jimi

  • no duh...

  • wow. great job. nice and clean, i could hear all your notes great job!

now when i play it, its rather sloppy haha..

    great work!

  • loosen up

  • like to see you play the full thing

  • cheers for that dude, I watched your vid a bunch of times, can play it like that now, good work.

  • DUDE!!!! instructional video pl0xes?? dont be such a selfish asshole! =)

  • Fucking Excellent!!!

  • thats stevie ray vaughan version of little wing

  • That was great. Why don't you do an instructional video please?

  • ur good nice tone

  • good job man, what amp is this being played through

  • nice playing

i wish i could play little wing like u

  • I've been listening to this song for probably 10n years, and to this day, I don't think I've ever heard it played so CRISPLY, as it is when you throw down here. That is a compliment, I assure you. I really enjoy your playing. Keep it up.

    Fly on.

    Janutz

  • mad how everyone asks for "tabs"

    didn't you grow any ears?

no seriously.. no offence, but try it.

forget the papers. listen.. 1001 times.

and than put your soul into it.

    THAT is the Jimmy way.

    Good luck

  • lol.. thats the jimmi way?

  • well, of course I don't know Jimmy, but I'm quite sure he wasn't reading /writing tabs.. I imagine he would just listen, absorb, and play, from the heart, not from a piece of paper. Don't get me wrong it might be a good starting point, but if you stick to it, you'll get stuck in the mechanics.. and you play notes without meaning, like talking a lot without saying anything. We all can agree Jimmy played from the heart & soul.

but all of the above I can simply turn in to one line:The jimmy way

  • Your statement would have more weight if you spelled his name Jimi.

Not to say you don't have a wonderful point, though, that's my view exactly.

  • nah actually its best to know all aspects of music... be it literature, experience, scales, chords, notes, tones... Jimi was taught throughout his life by people he met. Ofcourse u gotta be original but saying u cant read music and be original by urself is like tryna contradict musics greats like johann Bach, Mozart, Pachelbel...

  • I didn't say you can not be original if you can read/write music. I read/write music but I find it distracting as my ears are faster. I supose if you start reading/writing score at very young age (under 7)you probably will be fast/good enough at it to make it work but everyone I have met, in my 22 years of playing music, that needed sheets/tabs or whatever, lacked spontaneity, soul as they're too focussed on what's on the paper. Some read about it, some just play. whatever works for you.

  • Let me give you a real life example of where reading music comes in handy.

My friend can listen to anything and play it on the piano pretty much instantly. He wanted to try out for our highschool Jazz Band (WHich is one of the tope in our city, Calgary Alberta Canada) He wasn't allowed in because he struggles at reading music even though he outplayed everyone else there.

Being able to listen then play is a great skill, but thinking that you only need one ability in music is nonsense.

  • Top** rather, sorry for the spelling.

  • I think we're moving subject here; your comment is fair enough but about politics, not music. some people don't get a job, because of not having the degree yet they're better, some our not allowed in a club because of wrong choice of shoes, has nothing to do with skill, all about snobbisme and status; It's quite naive to think that things are what they seem. Mostly there's more than one agenda going on. As you said yourself, he outplayed everyone in that band, that's good enough for me.

  • Your friend has nothing to worry: I'm an electrician without ambition. I don't even know where my "diploma" is. I now run a AV company, making video's and audio tracks for film, TV add's and corporate video's: playing with video and playing music all day, no late nights, no drunk people, It gets enough bread on the table & I feel like I haven't worked in years! Call me "lucky". All I'm saying is, your friend was not allowed, coz there's something better out there for him; good luck!

  • Sweet.

  • where did u get the tabs

  • nice man got any tabs?

  • nice, check my acoustic version on little wing by stevie ray vaughan

    grtz

  • Awesome playing, brother!

I had to give you 10 stars for that!

But, can I have my guitar back now? LOL

    Stu

  • dude sounds good. but if you had it on little higher gain setting and more reverb that would sounds awesome. but sounds really nice anyways good job man.

  • pretty good, a little too bright though

  • nice an clean sounding

  • dude can you send me the tabs of your version or record a tutorial of your version?

    thanks

  • ur on ur way..dont be afraid to add ur own ideas to ur playing..srv always did

  • .................

  • damn ur good

  • My video isn't the max because i redorded it with my phone mobile

  • tune down a half step too, if you want that signature SRV sound

  • it's good...but you must play this song with a sound not hard...but it's good!

  • its not fender strat. its a Squire Strat, i have the very same one. very nice palying sir. 5 stars

  • yeah, it's actually an American Standard Strat reissue, not one thing is Squire about it except that squire makes a similar one : )

  • wow, don't i look like an idiot than....haha.

    *walks away in shame*

  • yo i dig it dope song choice but one peice of constructive critacism slow it down a tad bit and feel the notes a little more dont just play them sounds stupid i know but its the way to go
