you have the sub in a bad spot, center of the room, you must put it in a corner with the front of the woofer facing the wall, THEN you'll get maximum bass response. try it yourself

I think putting the acoustimass in a corner will have too powerful a bass. Bose just recommends putting it facing a wall or you can adjust the bass using the knob at the back.
