You may have noticed that this is the first version not the retailed game.

This version of the game started as a group of men uncovering a treasur in a museum near central park and after that all hell brakes loose.

Also, the enemies in this version were alot more cleshay like bat goblins and ect.

As DreadArkive just said. AITD is the mother of RE and SH. IF not for Alone there would BE no RE and SH. So if anything is a "classic" it's rightfully Alone in the Dark.

well the re i know and love is not the same... it is a survival horror game but just doesn't do as good of a job as it has once done... the title needed to take a change cuz the old games just didn't appeal to the masses of gamers as said by re producers.. which is bullshit because most gamers love and respect the series (well the older games)..

alone in the dark was the base for all of the new survival horror games. alone in the dark is a classic if you have ever played the original alone in the dark games you would be calling resident evil and silent hill the children of infograms masterpiece. i honestly can not wait to try this game, i hope it lives up to the originals.

I have barely read a bad word about this game and yet the graphics look little better than those of the rather great Alone in the dark: the new nightmare from about 6 years ago. Like Resident Evil 4, this game seems to have moved away from haunted mansions. However this rather generic city look does nothing for me.
