I wish I could have heard Sor himself play this, and his other pieces. Little Lacote-style instrument, no-nails...yet he was reputed to be a riveting performer. Interesting to think about...

A mi lo que me llama la atención de estas piezas, ya no es solo la elevada dificultad sino el toque que le da cada músico. En este caso, el Gran Solo lo han interpretado millares de guitarristas, pero yo personalmente me quedo con esta interpretación... aunque un poco rápida en algunas partes, me parece perfectamente equilibrada y muy bien matizada.

Milos takes a dull, repetive and routine piece and breathes new life into it. Usually I can't sit through a performance of this but Jancic makes it interesting and musical without the ridiculous showmanship that usually goes with performances of it.

This is the best version of Grand Solo I've ever heard. I prefer this over even Bream's version.

while I think this guy's a great player, his facial expressions are pretty funny...as are most serious classical guitarists, i guess.... like they're thinking "i..am so...awesome!....i play with such feeling......and....i will never pull this stick out of my ass"

I've watched many of the other versions on youtube, including Julian B, and this is by far the most amazing. Why isn't this guy conquering the world with a tour!! johnlockejr - remember that it is only fake gemstones that have no flaws.

i didn't listen to Julian Bream's version body, but this piece contains a lot of repeats in it. Since 4 is approx half of 9, maybe the repeats isn't played?
