I was playing mgs2 this afternoon and while swimming to go find Emma, I suddenly heard the same mystery sound. However, I was paying atention to the radar/map, and so I don't know what I was supposed to have seen.

When you find the body of Stillman it comes floating through the door you open and, while the game does play a rather dramatic sound at that, it is not the same sound as the one that acompanies Ghostcelot's disappearance. Also, while I don't remember the exact spot, I do remember that it was while swimming through the corridors underwater.

Yes, the game makers have the game programmed to play the music the moment you hit that certain angle. If you never look again, you won't get the music. Kojima is a genius.

in the first holds you will see hatches on the floor under the ladders you use to climb down, open them with the action button and climb down them then keep going under and eventually you'll reach hold 3 and a ladder that takes you to this place.
