  • Loved it! Your videos really are good inspiration.

I have a questions. How much do you focus on licks? Would you recommend me to learn and use as many solo licks as possible, or should I play freely in scales instead?

  • Thanks - and I am delighted if the videos encourage you.

I think it is important to play both hands and experiment a lot.. use licks and scales of course.. but also understand the extended chords. I generally try to keep solos melodic - though this number is probably too "lick heavy":-)

Playing along with other music can be a helpful way to keep a sense of structure and melody (see the "Mustang Sally" video.. though I am not keen on that number) Keep playing!!!

  • Ok, I will do that. Thank you very much!

And I have already listened alot to your Mustang Sally video. Thanks for uploading that!

  • you are really awesome. i would love to hear you play with a bass player so you could free your left hand to play tri-tones.

i love the yamaha s90 and i play one at church every week. what is your favorite acoustic piano sound on it?

  • There's a tri-tone section in bogwall boogie.. though no bass:-) normally playing with an 8 piece now - so lots of scope!

Favourite piano.. depends on the number - I use "jazz grand" quite a bit

  • Absolultly fantastic

    you are so talented
