Princess Diana was amazing. She will never be forgotten. Unfortunately, the beautiful woman's life was riddled with her own problems. Lets not forget her husband slapping her after she fainted and screaming "Princesses don't faint!" and publicly announcing that their marriage failed because of her bulimia. And her life was ended so soon after it began.

Anyone who want to "ban" landmines has never tried to catch a little sleep in a position that has an open flank. Land mines are a necessary implement of the battlefield. Maybe we could perfect the mines that chemically disintegrate in 36 months or so to protect civilians AFTER the war's over. Even if the U.S. quits making/using mines poorer countries and groups will still use the "old fashioned" mines anyway. Sorry to be "Mister Sunshine" to the dreamers out there...

Landmines cost as little as $3 to make but cost thousands of dollars to remove....what a logistical nightmare....! I'm guessing these 60 plus countries are 'poor'. Where does one begin to sort that mess out? Not to mention the fact that idiots are still making them...
