Not nice for a minute, If this man that owned the camera would of been fined for loss of camera I would help prevent this more so? Being a bird watcher I'm seeing the horror of our "losses" and impact on our wildlife. Example: fishing line last year around a eaglets feet , a plastic construction netting in osprey nest taking the life of a (ready to fledged chick). there are more but 2 will do. If you think this is harsh what else would work . come on! any money made from this? do u know?

I doubt the turtle tried to eat it, it was probably playing with it. Turtles as a rule are pretty playful, I've raised a few. However, it is remotely possible. One of the ones I rescued had aquarium gravel in its stomach and got the last of it out 6 months later...
