  • I'm a Filipino. When Araneta Coliseum in Cubao opened in 1960, Harry Belafonte was the first performer. I watched him with my dear late father. I was 5 years old.

  • A very special gentleman. No matter old or young, he has a voice that takes you to

the magic island in the sun. I've listened to him for over 40 years and he just keeps

    getting better.

  • I love, love this song. My father was Jamaican born and came to England 50 years ago. He sadly passed away two months ago, but when he was with us he would forever sing this song. He loved Jamaica with all his heart, although he lived more of his life here than in Jamaica. My greatest regret is not visiting his island of birth when he was alive. Daddy I will visit your 'island in the sun' very soon. RIP Daddy!!
