There will be no plateau in terms of graphics, people made that mistake in the year 2000. The only plateau would be graphics 100 percent indistinguishable from real life, and we're not even close.

BLUERAY IS FAILING! Nintendo and MIcrosoft knows it!! Sony especially knows it. Netflix,Hulu and various online movie sites are killing it. Yes! there are still new Blueray movies being released but, the same could've been said for HDDVDs when it was pushed out of the market. The ONLY way Sony can save blueray, they need to license more 3rd parties to manufacture blueray players. Those players need to be more affordable to the average home base. This would make blueray take down the DVD.

It's not Nintendo's goal, and I'm glad. When Sony first did that multi play crap with the PS2 it developed into a lot of problems. Some PS2's would play Blue disc but not silver or gold dvd's, Others would only play dvd gold scratched, not brand new. Thumbs up for Nintendo for keeping it real with the games. Besides, the thing has netflix, Get over it 360 fans, there was a time the great Microsoft wouldn't support dvd bah lol. Now you knock the big N. for not supporting it, get a new hobby.
The lack of a BluRay player doesn't surprise me. Physical movies are becoming outdated because of Netflix. TV is also becoming outdated because of Hulu Plus, so as long as the WiiU has apps for those, it's pretty much the same thing as having a BluRay player. I don't even watch movies anymore unless it's on Netflix so no big deal there. As long as we get StarFox, Metroid, and Zelda. Maybe even another Madworld and Eternal Darkness, I'm good. Everything else is gravy.

Kinda getting tired of the one Mario Kart pre a system, Two Zeldas' pre a system, Finally got kid Icarus back, one or two Star Fox games and so on. I just find it funny how they usually make two zelda games pre a console and never drop the prices on any of their games until a second one releases and sells millions, some times even after that they won't drop the prices on games.

@ABACABEAA Umm wiiU disc unit is almost expensive as blu ray. You think that 40gb wiiu disc is cheap just because there doesn't read "blu ray" on it? Also, technology gets cheaper when it gets improved. For example blu ray units are something like 1/3 cheaper than a few years ago. However, the point is that WiiU will have optical disc that holds up to 40gb of data, which means almost automatically that wiiU:s disc unit will be at least more expensive than xbox 360 dvd unit.

I've always loved the Nintendo system. You really can't beat classic games. But we also know that loading speed and graphics is not what makes a good game, but the story line. I really been waiting for Nintendo to kick it up and here we have it, Nintendo U. Lets see what type of games Nintendo has for us this year. My only issue for the Wii U is cooling. From all the leaked specs the wii U has to be somewhere and the power7 CPU's are between 3.0-4.2Ghz clock speeds. I read somewhere it was 3.5 but we will have to wait and see. ^ ^

AMD have said there custom gpu is using there most current graphics tech thats HD 6000/HD 7000 so expect the custon chip to have assets from them 2 gpu units and all this HD4000 is rubbish and fake from IGN but the 360 gpu is comparable to HD 2000

@aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa What those people don't realize is blueray is slooooooow, its the reason the PS3 has to install its game on its internal hard drive before play. The Disc the Wii U uses, holds the same and possibly more info than a blueray disc. The kicker, its way faster than blueray with little or no loading. Its also the reason the Wii U doesn't need a hard drive. The disc might be the format IBM developed a couple of years ago. Nintendo and IBM have a long term realationship.

I dont know much about anything but I heard that the Wii U is going to be roughly 50-100 times more powerful than current gen in tech reports. XBox are focussing on having Kinect 2 integrated so wont have much better graphics. Sony aren't going to improve their new console at all in specs cos they just want to make a cheaper console after almost going broke on the PS3, and now want to go for the the female market. But thats just what I heard what do you guys think.

@ABACABEAA Umm wiiU disc unit is almost expensive as blu ray. You think that 40gb wiiu disc is cheap just because there doesn't read "blu ray" on it? Also, technology gets cheaper when it gets improved. For example blu ray units are something like 1/3 cheaper than a few years ago. However, the point is that WiiU will have optical disc that holds up to 40gb of data, which means almost automatically that wiiU:s disc unit will be at least more expensive than xbox 360 dvd unit.

@HawK047 If I wanted to watch movies I could use one of the many different devices specifically made for watching movies. Computer, DVD player etc. Same deal with music. Besides features like movie or music playing just jacks up the price for "bonus" features I never use. They get money and I get pointless features. Doesn't seem very fair to me or anybody else who doesn't use them.

Crytek, developers of Crysis and a company known to push the limits of videogame visuals, have confirmed that their brand new engine, ((( CryEngine 3 ))), is running on the Wii U. While Crytek isn’t showing anything just yet, they confirmed to Developers that the engine is running on the Wii U and that Crytek fully supports Nintendo’s new console.
WIi U can also run Unreal Engine 3 and Frostbite.

I've always loved the Nintendo system. You really can't beat classic games. But we also know that loading speed and graphics is not what makes a good game, but the story line. I really been waiting for Nintendo to kick it up and here we have it, Nintendo U. Lets see what type of games Nintendo has for us this year. Even tho the system will be faster and better then the PS3 and Xbox 360, they have to focus on what audience they are going to target because most of the games on the Wii ------>

My only issue for the Wii U is cooling. From all the leaked specs the wii U has to be somewhere and the power7 CPU's are between 3.0-4.2Ghz clock speeds. I read somewhere it was 3.5 but we will have to wait and see. ^ ^

AMD have said there custom gpu is using there most current graphics tech thats HD 6000/HD 7000 so expect the custon chip to have assets from them 2 gpu units and all this HD4000 is rubbish and fake from IGN but the 360 gpu is comparable to HD 2000

no ps3 is more powerful it has a Cell BroadBand Engine the wii uses some crappy IBM CPU and NO the Cell WASNT made by IBM it was Made By Sony,Toshiba, and IBM and what the clock speed of the wii u hmmmm nontendo hasnt told us the ps3 is clocked at 3.2 GHZ with 1 PPE and 8 SPEs and 1 isnt used another is used for the OS so the cell has 216 GIGAFLOPS and Can Go up to 2 TERAFLOPS when combined with the GPU and the WII U will fail because it still uses a proprietary disc and no HDD ps3 will win

@aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa What those people don't realize is blueray is slooooooow, its the reason the PS3 has to install its game on its internal hard drive before play. The Disc the Wii U uses, holds the same and possibly more info than a blueray disc. The kicker, its way faster than blueray with little or no loading. Its also the reason the Wii U doesn't need a hard drive. The disc might be the format IBM developed a couple of years ago. Nintendo and IBM have a long term realationship.

Imo wii should also get polished versions of games, and not exclude a certain gamer audience, and I completely understand.

I dont know much about anything but I heard that the Wii U is going to be roughly 50-100 times more powerful than current gen in tech reports. XBox are focussing on having Kinect 2 integrated so wont have much better graphics. Sony aren't going to improve their new console at all in specs cos they just want to make a cheaper console after almost going broke on the PS3, and now want to go for the the female market. But thats just what I heard what do you guys think.
