  • cool as tits

  • Now make miniature Cat excavator.

    2 people are jealous.

  • Nice work! What was your solution for injectors, homemade or....?

  • Nice engine! Great work!

  • really nice engine, it's apity, that U didn't show more details

  • 4 cylinders+monoblock+pushrods+water cooling=quadruple win!

damn it must get common rail!

  • Runs incredible smooth! very nice.

  • really nice piece of work!!!

  • If you ever go into detail on the construction process, I'm sure you'd fina a receptive audience!

Also, any plans for scale forced induction?

  • Nice work, very interesting. There are really a few diesel scale around.

  • Oh it has a radiator.

  • Very nice work!

  • Excellent well done. Id love to take this and mount it on a scale 1960 truck with RC

  • Use an electronic injection, and add a RC turbocharger, show us turbo diesel power :D

  • hold on, wheres the inlet manifold?

  • Have the designs? ID love to build one :)

  • It's a work of art! Love it.

  • put that on a motorcycle???

  • An air starter would top it off nicely.

  • @mdytmhgd Especially if it recharged its own air supply. Unfortunately you cannot air start a 4 cylinder 4 stroke (dead zones where all pistons are at TDC or BDC) unless you start by hand cranking it away from such a zone.

  • @tnphysics I'm sorry, I meant an air powered motor for a starter.

  • i want to build a single cylinder 4 stroke. maybe 20cc or so. but i don't have a lathe....could i possibly use a drill? if so what type of bit would you recomend? thanks.

  • @scbjgs

u cant use a dril because u cant get the drilled holes accurately enough and even if u could, u still have to make pistons and crank and valves and...

  • @tpvalley yeah...i was thinking wishfully....

  • @scbjgs

my grandfather would build simple steam engines with only hand tools so anything is possible!

main thing is to approach it as enjoying the journey rather than wanting the end to come, take ages with everything and measure a lot.

  • @tpvalley yeah..i'm only 14 now and i LOVE LOVE LOVE working on and with engines and learning how every component works...just fascinating....

  • @scbjgs That's awesome, I am 16 and love working on engine, And remember being 14. Glad to hear of another young mechanic!LOL!

  • @petterdiesel you're 16 and you remember being 14? I hope so!

  • @crunchycrispybacon Well dumbass! What I mean to say is is that I remember how fascinated I was with mechanical stuff at 14!DUH!LOL!

  • Great Engineering, Amazing!

  • This is the first injected diesel I have seen run! Well done!

  • Excellent work! Does this run on standard diesel or do you have to add methanol or similar?

  • Why doesn't this have more views? What a beautiful piece of machinery!

  • Awesome! how did you made the fuel pump

  • sweet! but it dos seem like you have a leak in your number 2 cylinder intake valve.

  • That's really rather impressive.

  • Now thats something!! " Pure Quality"

  • wow. i wish i could build something like that. o well. but very nice piece of work.

  • fantastic engine well built, did you build the injectors yourself

  • @electronick450

Injectors are standard GM poppet type, from a 5.7L diesel.

  • they really need to make transmissions for these things

  • Awesome work, very very rare, congratulations, very nice sound (like WW1aircraft engine).

Amazing enough you made even the injection pump yourself, so it should also be the injection nozzles?

What is the smoke out of that black "sock"? If this is the intake you have at least one not proper closing intake valve.- But never mind, this engine is very beautiful.

  • this is.. just something one can't describe by words, is the diesel pump made to be throttlable or just constant volume of diesel injected?

  • lol...biodiesel...? that would be awsome!

  • Brilliant piece of work

  • cool, kinda sounds like it has a knock, I bet thats not the truth though. It sounds awsome, I wish I could do that!

  • nice how long did it take you to build?

  • can you modify it to run on biodiesel?

  • that could quite possibly be the wolds most awesome portable tailgate / camp generator :P (hint hint)

  • make a turbo for it :D bet them injectors were hard to make

  • Very good! Can you show a video how you made it and how it looks inside ?I just love to look at this little engine .

  • Wow, good job!

The valves seem to have some sealing troubles though.. :(

    R

  • i really like the engine. wish i had the tools to build one my self.

  • Fantastic work! Really nice model engine.

  • Hey guys!! Great Job!!

Don't let the knuckleheads sour your pie!!

  • looks like it has a mini briggs and strattion muffler on it!

    0:50

  • so is it pressure lubed or is it splash?

  • awesum

  • Can you say lawnmower engine?

  • @Hotrodx199 can you say Geo/Chevy Metro engine?

  • @wwjoshdew Can you say Chevrolet Silverado engine?

  • @The91Diesel wow, howabout 4BT cummins model scale without the turbocharger, chevrolet uses V8 diesels not inline 4's. you might see this in a scale model of the dodge 2500-3500 but never in a chevy. learn your vehicles before posting crap.

  • @NOREENULR50BMG Don't worry, i know about all diesel engines which runs any cars and trucks. I know the Chevrolet uses V8 diesel engine called Duramax, Dodge uses "inline 6" Cummins ISB and Ford uses V8 Powerstroke and inline-6 Ecotorq. And, do you know the Chevrolet uses inline-4 diesel engines for smaller cars and trucks? Be sure i don't post any crap.

  • Yep, he built the jerk pump and everything. From what I understand the injectors are GM poppet-type injectors like those used in the 5.7 diesel. I wonder how he throttles the thing.

  • Do you have another engine running on the ground?

  • how did u get the right injector pump cam profiles and how did u machine the pump plungers so accuratel?

Be good in a model diesel electric loco, be good to hear the exhaust note without the silencer and if u revved it a bit.

  • it have enough power to drive a 2 seat kart... just attach to a gearbox and step the pedal to the floor.

  • This would be great in something RC, like a boat.

  • all you need is a turbo and a set of wheels baby!! Wheeeeee.

  • That is superb!!!!!! well done

  • It´s a very cool little engine, but it aint excactly running very smooth yet.

  • How is your homebuilt engine doing?

    ;-)

  • Hi

    Very nice

    Can I buy one

    Jeff

  • very nice!!! congrats...

  • Thank you.A credit to the maker !

  • my god i wish i had the shop to do that!!! my school cut machining out! beautiful work truly

  • How many cc ?

  • I noticed it looked like the smoke worsened and smoke started coming out of air breather, was the engine worn badly during run?

  • Really, really cool! How can I find out more about this engine and builder? The 2-cyl aswell! Can you give more details on the injection pump?

Do you have a website to visit?

So cool! Im a real diesel nutcase! Love em!

  • What kind of injectors were used?
