Yeah, it's a very nice port and really showed off what such a limited system was capable of with the right guys writing the software (and maybe a little help with an accelerated CPU :) I need to increase mine a few more MHz to play this game smoothly in its full screen mode. One day...
Whoa, I had no idea of this port's existence! And it's freeware, too! And ported with the help of "Burger" Heineman. How have I not heard of this until now, haha.
Thanks for showing this! I'd been looking for something else to use with my Transwarp card.
@BrianPicchi Mine goes up to 6.3MHz. It's a version 8H, revision 1.4x and I can't seem to find any information on this particular version of the Transwarp online. According to what sources I've found, most seemed to go up to only 3.58MHz.
@phreakindee Early TransWarp GS cards shipped with only a 6 MHz 65C816, however they can run as high as 18.75 MHz with some modification. For a modest speed upgrade however, you just need to replace the CPU and oscillator--both are socketed and removable.
For my own TWGS, I popped in a 7 MHz 65C816 and overclocked it to 8 MHz. My Zip GS card on the other hand is running at 12.5 MHz (I had it at 15 MHz at one point, but bumped it down).
So im an amiga-guy.. and this I admit isnt that bad atall! I love seeing this ported to all the platforms.
