  • This i love the pyro i wish i could go back to these days

  • @ssviking81 country phag

  • @Mrsteisag2 thnk you the guy holded the stanley cup is a country fag for sure

  • @ssviking81 its not my fault colorado sucks

  • This is the year the Flyers should have won it...

Well we've had a lot of those years... but I remember being only 5 watching us choke away a 3-1 lead to the Devils, and then Stevens giving Lindros another concussion, and then NJ wins the cup...

  • half of the views are mine

  • I miss Reunion Arena....such a better atmosphere than the AAC....

  • @drdkphd seriously. the worst seat at Reunion Arena is the equivalent of a lower level seat at the AAC

  • thts wat the fuckin avs get for beating the wings 2 years in a row.

dale hunter tht asswip and claude lemiuex will nvr be forgiven for everything hes done to us.

its good seein them lose. too bad the stars didnt win the cup but, belfour and brodeour was a great goalie faceoff and hey it went to 7 games so it had to be a good series.

  • If you look closely at the :47 mark. You can see a guy slip and fall on the ice. He is on the lower right side of the rink along the boards. I think he is a reporter or rink personal?

  • yeah thesew original stars and avs jerseys were great. the reebok jerseys they have now just look like crap. the stars jerseys now look a mix between football and basketball jerseys. They should have at least kept their jerseys the same like what was done with the Hawks and Devils.

  • The Avalanche looked like they were traumatized after the goal wuz scored.

  • @tmillz331 That's because Belfour was busy stealing that game from them and just had no answer.

  • This gives me chills watching this. Reunion Arena during the playoffs was absolutely crazy!

Oh, and hockey needs to be back on ESPN with Gary Thorne and Bill Clement commentating. Best national broadcast duo ever.

  • @GSJ61191 im canadian and i much prefer listening to these 2 than what i have up here, bring the NHL back to ESPN pleaseee!

  • @italstallion06 I hear you man. Hockey's missing out without these two calling the games.

  • Oh, Gary Thorne & Bill Clement..... My oh my how I miss you!

  • It's not about luck when you play a best of 7-series. In one game it might be, but not when you need 4 wins.

  • i love this anouser

    i spelled that wrong

  • Gary Thorne is the best play-by-play announcer there has ever been! I sure hope the NHL would return to ESPN!

  • Avs fan here - lot of great games between these two teams back in the day. I'm glad that back in the day - for a period of about six years at least - every team that beat Colorado in the playoffs went to the Finals except for Edmonton in 98. Hurt to lose game 7 this year but 01 made up for it....

Feels kind of unusual to have Colorado and Dallas sitting at home for the playoffs.

  • These stars jerseys were great, much better than today.

  • @Slegnirp untill reebok came along wanting to make new lighter thinner jerseys...

  • @Slegnirp as were the Avs jerseys

  • everytime i hear him do the play by play wit jim jackson i remember the good ol days on espn looking forward to see it again on espn starting 2009-2010

  • the nhl is returning to espn/abc???? that would be awesome!!!!

  • Hockey isn't the same without Bill Clement :(

  • agreed. we need Gary Thorne and Bill Clement back!

  • I can do without Clement. He always states the obvious. I mean, listen to his "expert opinion" at the end...ridiculous. Now, Gary Thorne...he's a fucking legend as far as hockey goes. Yes, bring hockey back on ESPN!

  • or Gary Thorne

  • stars are the best!

  • im a stars fan but im not sure if were watching the same season

  • I was at game 6 at the AAC this past year against the Ducks and the Sharks, and it finally got as loud as reunion, but I loved the setup at reunion, everyone so close together, very intimidating

  • is it the fourth of july?

  • as far as intimidating horns and horns that give u the chills if your the opposing team, its got to be edmontons rexall place......but in a close second is dallas and then buffalo......best horns ever

  • I have been all over the world, and I have never heard a louder arena then Reunion

  • whoa that horn is intimidating. awesome

  • some of it was fireworks though haha

  • i'm a diehard lifelong sharks fan

but i've got enough class to recognize and respect greatness when i see it

  • RIP Reunion Arena

  • joe nieuwendyk was better than yzerman

  • I miss those ESPN hockey broadcasts, especially with Gary Thorne.

  • man I wish I could've gone to Reunion Arena for a Stars game just once

  • i use to have season tickets and go to playoffs and will never forget those memories

  • Has the AAC ever been "that" loud? The crowd practically drowns out the goal horn! Those were the days...

  • Savor these classic Reunion Arena moments, because the city of Dallas is going to demolish the building really soon. It's really sad because I went to my very first (and only so far) NHL game at Reunion, and boy, that place was loud!

  • versus coverage is the worst

    all those announcers suck ass

  • hey hey don't say that Razor is an announcer on Versus when he's not with the Stars

  • Versus' coverage is fine, but man, they need to seriously get Gary Thorne! The man just makes games 1000x more exciting!

  • i cant believe espn will put on major league lacrosse and not the nhl

  • That's probably because ESPN and the NHL parted on somewhat nasty terms when their last contract ran out. Were I NHL commish,I'd never let my league go back there. Why? Well,ESPN has this habit of tarding everything it touches.

  • I agree ESPN is more about promoting itself rather than any of the actual sports. But ESPN reaches far more homes than Versus. I do miss Gary Thorne calling games.

  • Don't forget about the lockout

  • its a shame that more people have not seen this

  • the reunion arena was awesome i miss the season tickets and playoffs with my dad =(

  • then what do you want to do ckg927

more people need to watch hockey games

how would you change the game to make it more interesting or get more people to watch

  • 1. If you're going to get a national TV contract, you can't go wrong with USA Network. They have a sports presence, they used to do the NHL back in the day,AND-as part of NBC Universal-can be cross promoted like crazy. You can't say that about Versus.

    2. Like it or not, hockey's always going to remain a regional sport(Canada and northern climes),with some exceptions. Do I want more people to watch? Yes. But it's not happening anytime soon.

  • gary thorne

the nhl just needs to get the games back on espn, enough with this versus shit

  • Never. Never. A THOUSAND times never.

As if you haven't notice already,ESPN tards everything it touches. Were I the commish,I'd never all the NHL to be a blight on Bristol ever again, knowing how bad my league got jammed the last time ESPN held the contract to air NHL games.

  • the nhl needs gary thorne back.

  • the horn goes on and on plus the pyro's going off

    WOW

  • I'm a Sharks fan but i have to admit that i would have loved to been there for that

  • Greatness. Thanks for the clip. What a series. Do you have any clips from Game 7?

  • man this brings back so many good memories

  • yea it does i miss reunion arena

  • Yeah reunion was so much better than the new stadium it was so much louder to

go stars up 3-1 against the ducks

  • It's just you. The horn is the same, only difference is it's louder at the AAC and not as long as it was at Reunion.

  • Is it just me, or did the goal horn sound better at Reunion Arena than it does at the AAC?

  • it sounded much better at The Reunion Arena.

  • The roof was lower to the ice at Reunion. It made everything much louder.

  • Yeah, a little bit, not much. Im still looking for the goal horn from when the Stars first use, when they came to Dallas. I cant find it anywhere.

  • Btw, the great Chuck Norris was at this game.

  • I so remember this game. What a great game! Belfour was an absolute beast in the series. For those series, yes Belfour > Roy.

  • 99 Game 7 was a lot more exciting and louder than this game (I was at both) but that's just me. Then again, we had just clinched our first trip to the finals so I guess it is to be expected.

What a run our team had back in the late 90s and early 2000s.

  • i miss gary thorne! now hes off with the baltimore orioles in baseball!

  • I think if there is one thing I miss in the NHL its the voice of Gary Thorne.

  • I concur completely. Gary Thorne's commentating could get to watch the two most boring teams in hockey. He was always able to make it sound exciting. Mike Emrick does a hell of a job too, but I grew up listening to Thorne on ESPN.

  • Don't forget Rick Jeanneret of the Sabres

  • I miss Joe Nieuwendyk, great hockey player and a first class guy.

  • WOW! The pyro's going off at Reunion and the crowd goes nuts! Those were the days...

  • Oh yeah. I remember that Game. It was like that EXACTLY in the 99 conference finals, except it was in O.T. Man... It feels like it was yesterday.
