That's fascinating...Glad to see some Penner videos here. A hugely underrated comedian. I love Joe Besser too!

I'll bet the pigeons were animated at Disney, as they were connected to R-K-O at the time.

Brooks must have seen a few Penner films. The main plotline for "The Producers" came right out of "New Faces of 1937," which starred Penner, Parkyakarkus and Milton Berle.
