Why is it, when the Word of G-d is correctly applied to life, that 1 Chron 16:22 is used? ALL scripture is G-d breathed so this scripture can't take precedence over other verses. 1) on Jakes' website, the Statement of Faith CLEARLY states that he is a MODALIST which is HERESY. It is another G-D; not the G-D of the Bible. The book 1 John is clear; if you don't have a correct theology, you do not have Salvation. Psalms 105:15 says, "Touch not my anointed ones; and do my prophets no harm". Since we do not know who God's anointed ones or prophets REALLY are, you need to keep your mouth closed. The question is One what? Surely you wouldnt say God is one thing, like one chair, or one door or one car. The question is one what? He is one God! You are building a straw-man argument, we agree with you that God is one God. We do not see a conflict with God being called HE, and then in another passage being referred to as US. Gen 1:26-27 states "Let Us", it was written by Moses who wrote: "Hear O Israel, the LORD our God is One" (Det 6:4). Why does it say "let us"? The title Elohim (God) is used when the LORD creates as Soverign King of the Universe, just as YHVH is used when God is dealing with His relationship with man. Therefore the "Let us" is a royal proclaimation, it is a royal plural of majesty, just as the British Queen says "we are not amused", but is one woman (person), It signifies God's many attributes

You cant find one reference in Eastern World history that sites the plurality of majesty before the 13th century. It is extremely unlikely that Moses would use a 13th century concept and apply it in a 2000 BC setting. That would be equivalent of saying Jesus wore Levi jeans, he could not have worn Levis given the fact that Levis were made over 2000 years after Christ. In fact what we see in Gen 1:26 is the plurality of God, a composite unity. Which is clearly shown in the NT.

The Plural of Majesty was used by the Jews before c. 13 and evidence is in the Talmud of this (see Everyman's Talmud, available on Amazon). It is also extremely unlikely Moses would use a 3rd Century AD concept such as the trinity when Moses only knew One God who was a Spirit.

In the NT the Father is called God, Jesus is called God, is called God. Then it is also true that in the NT God is called Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
