no the scoop on top actually isnt an intake at all its for engine cooling and isnt really nessesary

An intake is for engine cooling. I have two intakes on my little C32 amg. Given on this car, it's not nessesary, it probably does keep the engine a bit cooler than a stock CGT and therefore and gives a bit more performance.
