the reason the game companies keep using this obnoxious securom on the disc version of games is because they're trying to kill the physical game market just like Netflix killed BlockBuster. they want PC gamers to buy their games online/download because its more controllable, u cant sell nor lend digital PC games. i was gonna buy a gaming PC but ever since i learn about this securom sheme i think i'll just stick to consoles. i prefer to own disc not rent digital contents.

By putting software that irritates the user on the retail copies, the users that get their games from legitimate sources get mad, and the companies will sell less to those gamers. The cracked version will run fine. SecuROM pisses off the users, and lowers game sales, while people would rather resort to piracy. Yeah, very effective anti-piracy methods they got there -.-

Game companies keep using SecurROM because they want to force everybody to the consoles... Not that those are 100% secure by any means, but they are harder to pirate for than the PC... They want PC gaming to die... it's the only logical explanation. It does jack shit to stop piracy, they know this and they use it anyways.

This was truly cathartic after all the shit that has happened to my PC after I installed Bad Company 2 (comes with SecuSHIT). Now my DVD rom can't read any discs I insert into it. I've even tried another DVD rom and still the same problem. It's just like opening an empy folder. It might not be securom at all, it just seems incredibly weird. Seen other people with the same problem. It happened after I tried to burn a CD. Maybe I'm way off. Dunno.
