mike20874 is right, mark adams was the bassplayer and he was only 16 yrs. old and had to get his parents permission to go on tour during all bad-ass funked out jams.... THE DUDE IS BADD AS HELL, i know, i seen him then!!!!!

The bass player for the group Slave, was Mark Adams. Steve Washington played bass when he formed the group Aurra, and also played bass on George Clinton's Hey good lookin'.
This album was underated by the critics and DJs. It was a sad statement for a group that had put out so much music.
Diso, is what killed the careers of amny of the groups of this era. R&B was lumped into the disco category, and disco was primarily club music, and the following was not strong enough to support group like this.
The target audience for r&b, was not so much into disco, and they simply stopped looking for this type music, thinking that it had died.
unbelievable! i have been looking for slave in the few record stores left around they were so hot back in my high school days please post their first album with screw your wig on tight!
This album was my introduction to the sounds of Stellar and what a great musical education it was. There are still grooves inside these grooves yet to be dicovered. All ya got do is check my name.
next to parliafunkadelic and the isley brothers; slave put out the most comlpete albums ever all you had to do was hit play and you new every song on lp was a hit i never hesitated to buy a slave album. and mark hicks and steven washington are the baddest base players bar none
@TheDfunkadelic Sorry, but Bootsy is the BEST! Mark & Steve were very good as well. Bootsy is the Only person that I have gone to a Concert to see him play his Bass along with 100's of other people there fo the same.

One of the tracks which was broadcasted when they appeared on the Rock Concert-episode of the late Don Kirshner,
and the breakdown where Arrington is making that long shout while Mark "Hansolor" Adams is booming on his monsterbass is a sight to see.
