  • who the fuck stands up for any kind of civil rights and looks the other way during a genocide? when i say black nazi movement that's in full gear in our faces.

  • damn. you took that recoil as if nothing happened o.O

  • i know what i gonna bring this hunting season

  • I hate how they shorten the barrels on the new m-60's. i like the longer barreled ones.

  • I wish we could've kept the 60 instead of going to the 249. Offcourse we now have 3 classes of MGs.

  • @SS13E3 M249 is a better weapon on a hike. Shoots faster, lighter, easier to aim, etc....

  • @ajlepisto

You forgot that it jams alot.

  • @ajlepisto its also less reliable weaker less range and less durable

  • @lukie117 Sure, it doesn't have the range, however the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is proving that it's not about range and firepower as much as it's about modern tactics.

  • @lukie117 It just makes more sense to move to the same round. The M249 is easier to use in the field due to increased support and reduction in size and weight, and now you don't need another guy to carry your ammo like was a MUST with the M60. In a pinch too, the M249 can use the magazines from the M16s as well, something that the M60 couldn't.

  • @ajlepisto

The M60 didn't have to have someone else carrying ammo. The M249 MkII is bigger and heavier then the latest M60 model. The M249 also feeds like shit with M4/M16 mags.

  • @NoahGoodAtAllSports Tell me, when was the last time you used a magazine fed m249?

It's not airsoft, these are real guns, huge difference. When in teh field in average sized squads (not special operations stuff) the M60 was always supported by an assistant gunner, who acts like a spotter would to a sniper. That was common military tactics and I've asked a few people who carried that weapon during vietnam who said they had assistant gunners. Read any history books about it and it will mention it

  • @ajlepisto

Last year. I fired an Para M249. First used beltfed, then a 30rd STANAG M4 mag. With the Mag, it jammed 4 times. I've only seen M60 gunners with assisant gunners in vietnam. If you look up SEALs, they used the M60 indiviually. It was harder because the original M60 was longer and heavier. The Mk43 and E4 models are much better.

  • @NoahGoodAtAllSports I just said, SEALs don't always use support gunners, but they DO have guys who carry ammo for them.

The M60 was supported in Vietnam well, hm, because that was the first major conflict where troops were deployed with it. As I said, the M60 was a platoon support weapon meaning it has 2-3 guys who help with aspects of it/it's job, whereas the M249 is meant to be a single soldier system. The M240 is still supported by multiple persons. The magazines jam due to the spring.

  • @ajlepisto In clarification: seals do have guys carry ammo for them when they need more, but the usual loadout was light enough that they could carry it themselves. The Seals use the M60 as a SAW, but it was never intended to be used that way for conventional military.

People confuse these things a lot, Seals adapt many things and use them outside of their main purpose, as do many special operations units.

  • @NoahGoodAtAllSports

Just Google "M60 AG" and you will find a bunch of varying sources that all back that up. Obviously some are more reputable than others - but even today they routinely have support roles like an AB and AG.

  • @NoahGoodAtAllSports The M60 wasn't "replaced" by the M249. The M249 is just more generally used. In reality the M240 was supposed to be the replacement for the M60. The M60 was a squad or platoon supported weapon, now in Iraq and Afghanistan units will have 2 M249s within them. It uses smaller ammo, it's meant to be a hybrid and a support weapon, hence why it uses the same ammo.

It jams because it's more precisely engineered, like the M16, which means it has less tolerances.

  • @NoahGoodAtAllSports To clarify, the newest M60 is the M60E4, and it's called the mk43 in some circles. It's close to 4 inches shorter with the short barrel, however it has two lengths that are fitted depending on what your need is. It's also still something like 1 pound heavier than the M249.

  • @ajlepisto And, you compare the M60 mk43 to the M249, however a more fair comparison would be to the M249 para or the Mk46 which is converted for special operations use just like the mk43 was. You can't compare a gun that has been redone something like 40 years later for special operations to a gun that is a base model designed for conventional warfare. Compare the spec ops versions of both and the M249 is still lighter and offers the same or more flexibility as far as ammo goes.

  • oh shit niceee

  • haha i dont live very far from there...used to get co2 there but they dont fill anymore.

  • I've watched an 800rd belt run non-stop with no problems.

  • Only on the 2006 production model from Saco

  • u know.. if ur shooting too long with an M60E3 the barrel will melt

  • get any commies?
