my dad is fond of blue sky the allman bros band, we both like free bird, i liked flood, srv and all jimi hendrix' solos, and led zepplin, so i have to say this is a pretty good list in my opinion, only you forgot that this arent the greatest solos, these some of the greatest in pop, rock, metal and blues history

@KLthebig Listen to Interstellar Overdrive, and see if you're still able to say that. Early Floyd song that was improvised/changed every time it was played live. No two versions are alike. Improvising doesn't make a song great, it just shows creative, spur-of-the-moment talent. In fact, much as I LOVE Jimmy P & Stairway, there are times when his solo would get somewhat choppy and overlong during live performances. The skill, IMO, and the passion which goes with a solo are what makes it great.
