That is called a "charlier cut", and it's not really a trick it's more of a move. The charlier cut is a card flourish.

This video got me started in this stuff. Joesph is a god with cards.

Keep trying it, hand size shouldn't matter to much. Pinkie holds the deck on the side, and index pushes back towards your body. Soon you will be doing them with both hands for no reason.

I always have on card from the top part slide up! WTF!!! so frustrating. I could do it if this card wouldnt slide up and make it impossiable. Im not sure what im doing wrong. Maybe my cards blow?

try practicing with fewer stack of cards and not the full 52 cards at the start...

First card trick i ever learnt, I hold the cards slightly differently though.

Impossible on the first few tries but with persistance, managed to do it with some degree of control within about 5 minutes. Changed hands and did it first try. Practice is the key to developing every skill.

Try my variation, hold the cards lower against the top of the palm with your thumb free. Pick half of the deck with the thumb.  Then rotate the bottom half up with your index finger and complete the cut.

It's a basic cut I worked out myself. I've adjusted the grip to the one in this video as it keeps the cards square. It's about balance and using gravity, and like he says pushing your index finger toward you. It's nothing to do with having big hands, unless your hands are incredibly tiny. Average sized hands with an average sized deck can handle it.

1) You don't need big hands.

2) Don't complain that your hands are not big enough; with practice you can do any cut.

3) All cards are not created equal; find a smaller deck and practice, then use a larger deck.

I always do this cut when I'm doing something on the computer that needs one hand... I cut with the other, and when I'm bored I use two decks, one in each hand and just practice...
