@Bill4393 it's not supposed to be getting cancelled. There are a lot of haters and a lot of people who aren't taking in many major factors that will lead to a very likely renewal. I don't see the show getting cancelled for a season 3 at all.

going by the SG1 movie art of truth, atlantis left earth 10 million years ago, and seeing that destiny is no where near the tech of altantis u have to guess that destiny is 11million+ years old, so given that, ya the weapons and sheilds are no match for anything, but seeing how its 11million years old and still working u have to give credit to the Alterans. ( The Ancients)

@Shinlao I dont think Atlantis is 10 million years old. I mean that they used Atlantis since they returned to Earth, 10.000 year ago. This means that they have been using the same tech for 10 million years, I dont think so.

Maybe, Atlantis is 1 million year old and Destiny is 10 million year old ...

@2010Daedalus i was mistaken it wasent ark of truth it was the first eps of SGA, it opens with atlantis leaving earth "several milllion years ago"cant remeber where i saw 10 millions years old.

@2010Daedalus but on to your 2nd part they left atlantis in pegaus and submurgeded it after they lost the war to the wrath and use the stargate to get back to earth, 10,000 years ago they never brought atlantis back to earth. there are some holes in the lore but it does seem like thye used atlantis for several milllion years, that doesnt mean they did up upgrade it. its all layed out of SG wiki sites, check them out

Sick episode! Destiny needs better weapons though.. Those orange pea shooters they got are boring. Give them beams or something cooler. And not orange, thats so bland and overdone.

Well the weapons are very ancient. The Destiny must have left thousands of years ago to reach that far far point of the universe. The ancients got better technology in the home galaxy (milky way) and also later in the pegasus galaxy. But I think they never reached the Destiny cause it had a lot of failures when the crew from earth arrived there (Oxygen, water, damaged parts of the ship).

So the Destiny never got better weapons. Maybe the crew from earth can get some there.

@Cerrajuh Correction Destiny left Millions of years ago :D according to one of the episodes I think :) and they never reached Destiny because they ascended and by time they did that they already knew what the background artifact was :)

Oh well then nvm some of my points.

Sometimes its not easy to understand everything of the episodes by me cause I am german and always watch the episodes in english to improve my english.

But I also think not all ascended. At least some reached the Pegasus Galaxy (SGA). Some of them returned in middle of Season 3.

Please tell me what the background artifact is? I never heard that thing before

or maybe didnt understand the word in an episode.

@wallytheturtle they cant just randomly shove in a huge space gun there now that its already set, and these guns are crappy because they are old and outdated compared to the newer technology by the race that built the ship

@Alex13N I know I know. I'm not saying they need more powerful weapons, i just think they could've made them cooler looking! For example the drones on newer Ancient ships are super cool looking and original. And the Tau'ri ships were pretty cool unique with just Railguns and Missiles. (Even the Asgard weapons upgrade was pretty original and sweet looking!)

Stargate has just always had really creative cool weapons, thought Destiny's were a little bland relative to the overall franchise
