i like putting a little baby powder in the plastic canister and then when u set it off it actually looks like a flash bang.... except refs dont like "homemade" grenades........
Drill the two 1mm holes in the side of the Co2 housing and run the one penny (Or Dime) at the bottom of the housing cap. That'll work best for you Schwell. With those mods, it's comparable to the fuse time on a real bang. Make sure to use one of these on Tony for me as well...LMAO.
@GUNSandTRIGGER Nope, it still functions exactly as it is intended. All the shims do is make the pin pierce the CO2 cylinder better. The design is really simple.
It's like the adjustable cap on the TPX pistol. Since different brands of cartridges varies a little in size (lenght) and the manufacturer based the design off a single brand of cartridges.
The cheapo Crosman CO2 canisters seem to work the best in these. You can usually find them at Dick's sporting goods for a reasonable price. But that's what I've had with experience with these here in Ohio.
try taping the top and the bottom of the actual plastic on the outside makes it only explode in the middle no hard tiome getting it off and faser explosion :)
a way to avoid the top of the shell getting caught in the top of the core is to score the shell where you want it to break. thus it works how you want it to. also to make them go off faster, drill holes in the co2 casing/ tube. tell me what you think shwell
One thing I've found to be extremely effective when using my grenades is to not use the pin or spoon at all. I simply manually pull back on the little spring hammer, and release it to get as much puncture power as possible. It fully punctures the co2, and allows me enough time to toss the grenade out. Another (more efficient) option that I enjoy using is to remove the spoon altogether, and simply smash the hammer onto a hard surface to forcefully puncture the co2 and immediately throw
Thanks for the tests. Would recommend some vaseline (petroleum jelly) on the shell threads for a better seal and as you note some flour or powder which decreases the volume available for the gas to expand into. I also score the side of it to create a weakness where it is more likely to rupture. They can still go wrong but my success rate with this approach would be about 90%.
Great demo! I purchase the players pack a few weeks ago I use 1 dime(shim) on the bottom and vasaline on the plastic thread then tightened it real good, mines detonates in 4 seconds.
DO NOT TIGHTEN THE PLASTIC AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!I DID AND THE THREAD STAYED IN AND IT TOOK 3 WEEKS FROM AIRSOFT TECH TO FIX IT,....DOOOOOOOO NOITTTTTTTTTT
what about 3 pennies so it is almost instant. Our team has been looking for flashbangs that go off within 1 to 3 seconds of being thrown. Will 3 pennies do that. It is sort of a waste to thow a grenade and have to wait 10 seconds. You loose the element of surprise.
@marinecorp556 The problem I have had with 3 pennies is the pin piercing the CO2 when I am ssembling it. Therefore wasting CO2. It will come to testing. Once you have it working as needed, you can always let the handle go before throwing and throw it right before it pops. You can also drill a hole into the Sleeve, and this causes a fast erruption. So there are def options to get a fast pop. Good luck.
The black canister (Flash) blew up in my hand immediately upon release of spoon and the entire pot metal mechanism shattered nearly throwing shrapnel in my face and my friend's face. Only use the green waffle bodies!
@firstroundko108 That sounds lke a faulty unit. Definately Faulty. I have had a total of 8 of these, and used well over 20, and never seen that happen. I will tell you that a unit that is not assembled correctly or modified can have issues. There is a user on Youtube Irelandairsoft or something like that has a vid of a failing unit similar to what you describe.
The canisters, levers and pins are available in large quantities. But the firing mechanism is not...(Cylinders). Would I have to buy multiple start up packs just to get that??? I've been looking all over for them.
@daROCK1972 Yes, that will be your only option to do this. I got one complete kit New, then 2 Starter Kits used. But they were Starter kits. But you are better off buying the complete kits. For the money you are saving by buying the complete kit. It is usually $10 more for the complete kit.. The Shells are $13. So a starter kit and shells is $38 on avg.. A complete kit is only $35.
Would three pennies work? The one with two pennies is not fast enough for me because I play very fast paced CQB. I'm kinda hoping for around 3 seconds.
@ReconCompany1 Def sarcasm. I like them, but they do have their downside, and based on my experience they have quite the failure rate. But the design is pretty simple and ez to get working with enough enginuity. Thanks for watching man.
make a video with it filled with BBs and partially filled

well if you put shims in it cant that cause early wear on the gas mechanism?

Something you could do so that it does not break on the top is make weak points in the bottom. Get a knif and make small slices on the bottom.
