What a sad sight, I think I can hear you weeping behind the camera!
Seriously though, were they selling the land and needed to get them out of the way like now or what? They could hire some kids cheap from the local employment agency and send them out there with some tools and pick every single part off those cars and make a lot of money,
I've always been surprised at the quality of some parts on old cars in the yards are, sometimes they are darn near perfect, and nothing fits like OEM!
What a gut wrenching sight.. Crush them yes, but only after every useable part has been removed and the body is a total loss.. There is someone looking for parts for EVERY car in that pile right now!!!
57 Plymouth: :O Why am i going to the crusher Corvair: SHUT UP Plymouth New Yorker: Yeah i hate going to the crusher 57 Plymouth: ill start my beat up 383 bb V8 and ill drive off on all 4 tyres. News Chopper 3: O.o a 57 Plymouth is driving out of a junkyard SAVE OLD CARZ
the person who owns this place is an idiot. he's on a gold mine right now. even in the condition some are in there still worth a ton of money. i would love to own one of these :,(
i kept my old school classic, i told the guy that that i bought it from that id fix it up and respect it, guess nobody knows what that is anymore,,, even tho i sent it to the junkyard twice and bought it back both times, ive payed for it more times than ive owned it, or fixed it... but its gettin a royal make over now..........everybody remember that when you see people trashin the real cars...
I wish there was a charity for this kind of thing... sorting out old cars for either protection or restoration.... If i won the lottery what id do is set up this charity and it would do nothing but restore sad cars and sell them on to enthusiatic owners who will look after them. All profits going back into getting and restoring yet more of them.
I'm a greenie, and own a '58 Delray and won't crush it. The clunkers laws are put there by the automakers so that you buy a new car and it helps big oil too. You have a big engine, just drive sensibly and keep it properly tuned up.
SCREW the green planet!!!!!! They should take each & every one of these damn environmMENTAList & place one in every car during the crush, frigin idots!
BTW, is the the RI yard, because the same thing was happening there, it was loaded with these cars.
I have been there as well. The owner was very old and he would have never let crush all these cars. He collected them through years and years. But the authorities are again the bad guys. This yard had to turn into green again. They don't give shit about the value and history of what have been crushed. Keep on voting "green"and finally all old cars still restorable or good for parts will end up within notime as scrap.
wow i cant belive it someone would be stupid enought to scrap these cars when there is so many auto shops looking to restore cars now these days thanks to the tv shows even a family wants to restore and spend time on it its all about pride and making people happy old cars make people happy trust me i own a few!!!!!!
I had the pleasure of driving through this yard over a year ago. The old lady the currently has it has no idea what she has. She had to call another guy who sells on ebay (user ID "carfinds") and ask him what she should charge me for the parts I wanted. Needless to say the yard was pretty well picked through when I was there. But I still made some damn good money on ebay with what I was lucky enough to purchase. I would not mind a second run at the yard now however.
@lukeslandspeeder Exactly! What a waste of good parts! Looks like those crushing guys are lazy a--es who dont bother to get off their big fat b-tts to strip the cars before crushing them!
I love your statement - the best I have received on all of my videos so far!!! Short but sweet. - It would be an excellent naturally occuring determent for practicing any and all types of ignorance... And I would add arrogance and jealousy as self-pain inducers as well.
That sucks!! I saw 5 CORVAIRS in that pile!! One of them appeared to be wearing Spyder emblems! Hopefully all the eng and turbo stuff were saved!! So sad to see all these rust free classics getting crushed.

people who squash these "prized museum collectables" now are to be honest morons. theyre worth more now in parts and restores then scrap. fact.
not all are restorable though, but still have parts. atleast remove parts before squashing. as you can tell i dont like seeing old cars gone.
