This sounded cool, but I don't know what the rest of the album sounds like; therefore, I'll hold off buying it. I really liked Spellbound when I first heard it, but I was disappointed with the rest of the Shallow Life album.

Maybe it's because I own all of their albums and have been exposed to their gradual shift in music style, but Lacuna Coil still sounds very much like Lacuna Coil to me. They've moved more towards the mainstream rock sound, which makes good business sense, but I think they've retained their sound pretty damn well.
This also might be because I'm not a hipster, so something being "mainstream" doesn't bother me one bit.

'Kill the lights' One of the best songs on the album 'with my spirit' and 'upsidedown' as good More heavier and solid album, worth having!. Not sure about the cover of REM's 'losing my religion'.It didn't seem they put lacuna coil feel into it and just did a poor cover, which I hate to say. For me that song ruins the album,otherwise good album.
This is better than "Shallow Life" but that's not saying much. It's starting to sound a little more like Karmacode which is a step in the right direction.
I just don't have words for "shadow life" and Dark adrenaline....... it's a style that just cant be compared with others. Keep up the good work! Hope to see more albums like that.

And I hate it. There are two songs that offer a glimpse of their true talent on this album, the rest are just market formula. I swear every song sounds like Ive heard it before. And thats because I have. Its the same generic formula. They are playing it safe.

Look at Nine Inch Nails, Paradise Lost, they are huge successes and they are very unique in their sound even though they create new sounds every album. True original art. @Rime247 A couple of months ago they played in one of the smallest metal venues in Belgium, while they could easily have sold out the largest ones. 200 people tops could fit in there. Sell-outs wouldn't do that. That was the true metal spirit, giving a kick-ass show for a small crowd, and hanging out at the bar afterward.

@eacz12 As a song, yes. I'd put it up there with Daylight Dancer. However, I feel it's overproduced on the album. The live version of this song is so amazing that the studio version kind of underwhelms me a bit in comparison. Sad, seeing as this is pretty much my favorite song on the album.
I do prefer their older albums, but this is a step up from "Shallow Life." That album was embarrassing. Plus my favorite change about "current" LC to older LC is they finally taught worked on Andrea's vocals or gave him auto-tune. I do miss his growly voice though.
I think their new album is simply PERFECT! I love how LC sounds now, 'Shallow life' had that 'new sound' as well but it was almost a fail, expect for a couple of songs. I'm a huge fan of all their albums but the latest one is mind blowing !
This album is great. Pick it up asap. Every band evolves and changes, it's not the band that needs to adapt but the people who need to adapt to the band. Love everything these guys have done. Kudos and cheers.
People adapt to the band? They're more popular than ever, an that's because they have shifted their style to be more accesible. More accessible also means less elaborate, that's why the old fans are not content.
After spending dome time with this album, it turns out that this and I Don't Believe In Tomorrow are my favorites. But this song stands up there with most of Comalies for me. It's almost as good as Daylight Dancer...almost.
I LOVE THIS SONG!! Lacuna Coil is BACK! Has both the contemporary and gothic edge which i really like. Overall, I cannot wait to get this song on iTunes!

I'm sorry but I don't want a band to sound exactly the same EVERY album! I like to see progression and I like when they try something different. Lacuna Coil is amazing no matter what. I can't pick a favorite because they are all great (IMO). Cristina is one of my all time favorite female vocalists.

Yeah we the ones that have taken the ride from the beginning can call them sellouts but pointblank its also about money. this is their jobs so the singles don't have the substance they use too but they have to evolve as musicians, broaden their audience, and with time you will notice them sway back to their origins and beyond. Every great band has either done it and succeeded or didn't and fell off the face of the planet.

Well I have heard the whole album, nice to hear guitar solos, some really catchy songs, and no it isn't the same as their earlier stuff, but this is album number 3 in this style, so quite frankly I would say listen to the albums you do like by them, because this is who the band are now, and the only people that truly need to enjoy the music they make, is actually the band that creates it, no band owes me anything, if I don't like something by them, I wont get it simple as that
@ANDREWHALL28 I agree completely. Artists do take fans into consideration, but when it comes down to it what really matters is the act of artistic creation itself. A musician or painter makes something to satisfy themselves and express their vision, they don't "owe" anybody anything. Sometimes their vision takes them down drastically different or unusual roads, and if you don't like that then you aren't obligated to partake of it.

@eacz12 As a song, yes. I'd put it up there with Daylight Dancer. However, I feel it's overproduced on the album. The live version of this song is so amazing that the studio version kind of underwhelms me a bit in comparison. Sad, seeing as this is pretty much my favorite song on the album.

I do prefer their older albums, but this is a step up from "Shallow Life." That album was embarrassing. Plus my favorite change about "current" LC to older LC is they finally taught worked on Andrea's vocals or gave him auto-tune. I do miss his growly voice though.

I think their new album is simply PERFECT! I love how LC sounds now, 'Shallow life' had that 'new sound' as well but it was almost a fail, expect for a couple of songs. I'm a huge fan of all their albums but the latest one is mind blowing !

I'm sorry but I don't want a band to sound exactly the same EVERY album! I like to see progression and I like when they try something different. Lacuna Coil is amazing no matter what. I can't pick a favorite because they are all great (IMO). Cristina is one of my all time favorite female vocalists.

Though this is not their old way, I still like it. Ive loved Lacuna coil since I was a teen and Im never gonna stop. Just because they tweek their sound does not make them sell outs. They are trying to appeal to modern day fans as well. Also, sometimes change can prove to be good. Go get em LC.3

I have loved this band since the first time I listened to them years ago and I still love them because as they grow their music grows. It may change, but it grows with the band. Yeah we the ones that have taken the ride from the beginning can call them sellouts but pointblank its also about money. this is their jobs so the singles don't have the substance they use too but they have to evolve as musicians, broaden their audience, and with time you will notice them sway back to their origins and beyond. Every great band has either done it and succeeded or didn't and fell off the face of the planet.

I <3 Lacuna Coil. I went to 3 of their live long time ago.
I didn't listen all the tracks of this last album but most of the available tracks from this one do not make me feel anything.
I may be too nostalgic but their songs really do not sound as good as Lacuna Coil, In Reverie, Comalies and Unleashed Memories albums.
Karmacode was limit. Shallow Life, mistake (2 good songs only).
Dark Adrenaline ? I should admit I'm scared.
I'm saying that by being a very big fan of this lovely band :/

Well I have heard the whole album, nice to hear guitar solos, some really catchy songs, and no it isn't the same as their earlier stuff, but this is album number 3 in this style, so quite frankly I would say listen to the albums you do like by them, because this is who the band are now, and the only people that truly need to enjoy the music they make, is actually the band that creates it, no band owes me anything, if I don't like something by them, I wont get it simple as that

@ANDREWHALL28 I agree completely. Artists do take fans into consideration, but when it comes down to it what really matters is the act of artistic creation itself. A musician or painter makes something to satisfy themselves and express their vision, they don't "owe" anybody anything. Sometimes their vision takes them down drastically different or unusual roads, and if you don't like that then you aren't obligated to partake of it.
