  • Terrible movie, just terrible

  • @TweenBlog12 I thought it was brilliant, but definitely not for everyone.

  • elle fanning is beautiful!

  • very boring movie...

  • I couldn't figure out who the girl was, because I thought she looked like a mix of Dakota Fanning and that girl from Kick Ass, but then it said her name and I thought....that makes sense.

  • What a great soundtrack :) and movie.

  • i want my little dekota fanning back!

  • AW, I love their relationship <3

  • @fede018 well, i live in taiwan so that's really hard to know them c_c|||

  • one of the best films in 2010

  • Just knowing it's gonna be like Lost in Translation(worst movie I've ever seen) makes it a definetely not-watch

  • @erin6ali Each to his own, I loved watching both.

  • @erin6ali so go to see Jackass 3D

  • Song: Julian Casablanca (The Strokes) - I'll Try Anything Once

  • First dakota grow up,now Elle grow up.Please, mrs and mr fanning make another TALENT baby like this girls!!!XD

  • ah the stroke's song is on this :D !

  • DONT WATCH IT >:<

  • I wish I could find the song that the daughter sings for her dad in this movie.

  • @Nitroking,

Come on dude really. This was a very good movie. In the end he gave up the playboy lifestyle and decided to be there for his daughter who is so desperately in need of someone to love and someone who will love her back.

  • I love Chris Pontius!!! 

  • @jbsuperfan7 sure is!

  • chris pontius 1:22??????????

  • I am loving this trailer

  • @TheSneakyPineapple It's 'I'll Try Anything Once' by The Strokes

  • WHOSE SONG?

  • @TheSneakyPineapple actually called "You Only Live Once" by The Strokes, but its a toned down version.. maybe remixed for the film or something. idk.

  • @ophelia0thy0mermaid it's the studio version called i'll try anything once.

  • @ophelia0thy0mermaid

It's the demo version of You Only Live Once. It officially appeared in Heart in a Cage Single Side B.

  • @DoreoC The songs name is I'll try anything once by the strokes

  • i get the plot of the movie and the movie is inspirationally fantastic............but i didn't really get the ending??????????????????

  • @MegaYoyo911 Me either. Him getting out of the car and walking way I think showed that he was completely through with his celebrity lifestyle. It really bummed me out that he didn't reassure his daughter more at the end. I'd have told her that she could stay with me forever if it was my kid. And why did he act like his life was caving in there at the end while on the phone? Did he really dread having to be a full-time dad that much? I liked the film, but not the ending...

  • @aaaredskin bt how did get to pick his daughter up after camp when she came back???????????????? :/

  • @MegaYoyo911 The ending gives you the impression that he's gonna walk away from everything....including his daughter. When she was getting into the car to go to camp a better man would have reassured her....and told her that she can live with him forever when she gets back from camp. His actions at the end were selfish considering he's responsible for that young girl.

  • Dang, Elle Fanning is quite grown up...I think she's taller than me XD

  • Goodness, she's such a beauty :)

  • The thing which made the movie special is the daughter/dad bond combinated with the two personalities of them.

  • Elle looks like ten years older this year. Wtf.

  • i suddenly miss my dad watching this

  • I knew I had heard that song before

  • @1:22 Why Is Chris Pontius In The BackGround???

  • theres a plot..?..in this movie here? O.o

  • god thanks, i fel asleep

  • stephan dorf, wasn't that the guy in The Gate ? lol

  • the most boring movie

  • This movie is really slow moving.

  • @anyways345 its focused more on emotions

  • @LiaWanders yeah, and that was the good part. I really enjoyed the acting :) I just didn't really see the point of that car driving by for the enire first two minutes and stuff like that. But I guess your right.

  • Comment removed

  • She looks a lot like Dakota now. Talented family...

  • this move have something with a meaning.

  • I bet Stephen ate Elles little box in his trailer!

  • @arthurkitchen what the fuck is wrong with you?

  • @anyways345 Shut up ugly bitch

  • Holy Shit. I'll Try Anything Once <3 fucking great song.

  • i love how chris pontius is trying to act serious in this movie! haha

  • 1:20 um Chris Pontius from Jackass?! or am i going crazy..

  • just for the stroke's song , ı can watch this

  • Oh goodness... it's PHOENIX!

  • Julian Casablancas <3

  • I tried to watch it... had to let it go fifteen in. Fifteen minutes I'll never get back

  • Was i the only one that actually didn't get this movie? His daughter comes over lives with him. His ex wife goes off somewhere... she goes to camp the end

  • @nitroking90 It's a dude who feels like he's done nothing of worth, leads a shallow life. Then by reconnecting with his daughter, he finds his spark again.

  • @nitroking90 It's an Indie art film only openminded art kids got this film and it was a beautiful film and it was more then what you said he was famous and his fame killed his family and when he spends more time with his daughter he sees what he missed out on and at the end when he walks away from his car that is him walking away from fame you see a smile on his face as he walks away. Go to College

  • @nitroking90 you're so right! you think it looks nice but then you watch it and its freakin boring!

  • how did i never see this movie?

  • This movie looks cool, still not as better as Lost In Translation who was one of the best movies ever made

  • I NEED THAT SONG!

  • @CherriesInDecember Search for The strokes - You Only Live Once. They got the original song.

  • @KateVEVO don't you just love them!! haha i do haha

  • @lylacapri28 I DO TOO! sorry, got excited there.

  • @CherriesInDecember The song is I'll Try Anything Once - The Strokes :)

  • Hey cool, Steven Dorff and Elle Fanning...and thats it!

  • i like

  • Love how here trailers never tell you jack-shit of what the film is actually about. But then, that's because her films never have a point. I'm still shocked and livid every time I see her noted as Academy Award winner for WRITING Lost In Translation, which film had no script, but was ad libbed by the actors... must be nice to have a powerful daddy in Hollywood!

  • @nirdjha2000 You know shit about movies dude honestly

  • @OfficialVampiresSuck If you say so...

  • Wow this looks shit, can't believe Pontius fell so far.

  • you'd just know it was the director of Lost in Translation, can't wait to watch this :]

  • wow shes gotten so big :o

  • The plot was really simple, but something about the movie made it really special.

  • she is a really good actress ;) I will watch it

  • f r e e u s a m o v i e s.w e e b l y.c o m

  • She reminds me Of Dakota Fanning :)

  • Comment removed

  • @crazmusic Thats because she's Dakotas sister ;) -> Elle Fanning

  • @crazmusic its her little sister :p

  • @crazmusic it's her littlesister :)

  • This movie is about the journey, like Benjamin Button. That's why it's so unique, it's not all about a complex story, but about the mood.

This kind of movies are very special.

  • You're too cool for this world Sophia, never mind the comments this film is amazing people are just not used to films without a plot you brought it all back to basics where it's the imagery that tells the story.

Simple film yet never simplistic, obscure film yet never obscurantist = a gem

  • @bukkake999 just like Michael bay :D

  • @bukkake999 I love how the voice of reason comes from a user named "bukkake999".

  • @Scoat Never mind the name I made it a while back, I was trying real hard to be provocative for some reason, then again the name is not that inappropriate if you look at the trailer lol...

  • The Strokes! <3

  • whats the song

    called

  • THE STROOOKES!!

  • This film reminded me of that (oniric) scene in the beach from "I'l deserto rosso" by Michelangelo Antonioni and "Paris, Texas" by Wim Wenders. I'm not saying it's a copy, but this movie has a poetic coincidence. You should watch a movie two or three times, not just once. The girl won the Golden Lion at the Venice Festival. This movie is her best work and a masterpiece. End of story. Watch it again, deal with it, people.

  • Also, the girl knows how to "zoom". Zoom is a stupid concept in film school. You shouldn't, you must not use zoom because "you are a student" and zoom is ugly, cheesy, easy; zoom is not a real tool, zoom is "for losers", but if you're going to make zoom you have to do it perfectly, zoom is a hard chance, zoom has to do everything with visual poetry, and Sofia Coppola knows how to make it. She knows cinematographic language, acting fits with the context, each frame is informative...

  • Whoa whoa! I see my comment caused a lot of anger, rage and shit one month ago... Yes, I'm a film student and i watched this film again and I'm saying it one more time: THIS FILM IS A MASTERPIECE, THE BEST FILM BY SOFIA COPPOLA, and I don't see problem. It is slow, it is not spectacular, but its effective. The script is marvelous. Sofia knows how to make movies. She knows the concepts: synthesis, aristotelian structure, classic narrative and photographic composition. Don't be mad at me.

  • Making a movie is like building a house. Coppola might have the necessary 'carpentry skills' and all the best materials to work with, but if her 'house' is just not appealing nobody will want to live in it. This movie is like a house that's been beautifully built by a fine craftsman, but is completely lacking in charm. If you can't grasp the concept of what gives a movie heart, than you are really wasting your time in film school. Just sayin'

  • Wait wait is this You Only Live Once playing?

  • @skylerEATSkids Nah, it's I'll Try Anything Once ;)

  • @kingtotikkis I'm prettyyy sure its the same thing

  • @skylerEATSkids Yeah only that the lyrics is pretty different and the whole tempo and it's another thing ... But yeah.... Really.

  • Sorry what exactly is this film about?

  • @SquidTheHorse95 I just finished watching this on HBO and the whole time I was watching this I kept waiting for something to happen. When the credits started running I swear to God I sat there looking at the TV and said out loud, "What the hell just happened?" Together they drove in a car, went on vacation and swam in a pool. He watched 2 blonde twins pole dance while he watched from the bed,had sex and drove in a car. It's possibly the most boring movie I've ever seen.

  • Where can I find the strip scene? :P

  • it's Chris Pontius of Jackass on 1:20

  • I was asking about the first one= Love like a sunset (Part II)-Phoenix

  • it's not the best movie but it's really good, I actually did like it :)

  • I actually loved this movie

  • aww like fathere like daughter

  • the song is I'll Try Anything Once by The Strokes

  • What's the song? I know it's by Phoenix but i dont know the name. I love Phoenix(:

  • @SelinTwihard its actually the strokes...

  • @LilytheSonicMermaid actually, it's phoenix. it's 'love like a sunset (part II)'

  • Comment removed

  • @xxcuseme1 but the second song is strokes you only live once isnt it?

  • @LilytheSonicMermaid yes, but SelinTwihard was asking about the first one, by Phoenix, which is why they said Phoenix.

  • @xxcuseme1 Thanks for the song name(:

  • the awkward moment when the trailer is better than the actual movie.

  • Sofia Coppola. Haven't watched it yet but DAMN, I have FAITH in that woman's directing

  • There are 17 words of dialog in this trailer

  • loved this movie

  • boorinnng!!!

  • this movie looks good but I don`t think that Sofia Coppola will ever make something as good as Lost In Translation was,a masterpiece

  • O filme parece ser legal

  • lol

  • well, i gotta be honest... i only screamed because i heard Julian Casablancas's voice :D

  • sorry elle fanning...ur not gonna be as awesome as ur big sissy...sucks, but u can try!

  • @utubegurl998 does it matter?

  • so either this movie is very dull of very good, but i can't tell :/

  • does anybody know the name to the second song.

  • @cookies463 no but it is Julian Casablancas. He's the lead singer from The Strokes. But its not a strokes song. Solo.

  • @cookies463 Sure, it's called "I'll Try Anything Once (You Only Live Once Demo)" By The Strokes off their album, "Heart In A Cage".

  • @Flurolamp thank you so much :)

  • Literally the most boring movie I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of bad movies.

  • This film was perfect. It was nothing more or less than what it needed to be. It was beautiful.

  • yeah this movie is really slow the plot is dull.

  • The girl is beautiful!

  • Why is there NO talking?
