  • sounds like a none stop exposion, oops thats what it is my bad

  • Is this why gas prices go up! LMAO

A co životní prostředí a ochrana přírody trotlové!!!

  • ...and I wanted to make a sugar rocket....

  • This is why earth rotates !

  • 22 millions horse power!!!! O___O

  • i love how the announcer tell you how far to skip ahead lol

  • I BETCHA THAT SAND IS GLASS!

  • goodbye mountain, nice knowing you lol

  • huh say what? they just glassed part of earth? how did the covenant find us!?

cool vid though this is for NASA's future manned space program i take it?

  • @kineticdeath

NASA has no future manned space programs. The US government just cut them all. NASA barely has enough funding to meet their existing commitments.

  • @BabyMakR bleh we're so doomed to die, as a species, on this rock because governments the world over are too tight to see beyond thier own noses

  • There was a sign directly in the path of the blast before it fired. Does anyone know what was written on it?

  • @gacwalker. stand here at own risk

  • does the earth turns faster now?

  • And that is how you get the fuck away from Earth.

  • When can I buy this for my car?

  • this is Chuck Norris' flashlight. ;)

  • I thought the earth slowed a bit that day.

  • Lol ein riesengoßer Asitoaster

  • that burns insanely long

  • I want to know how they restrain that thing. Must be some pretty heavy duty stuff...

  • this shit is creating its own storm !

  • So that's how they make glass...

  • OOOOOOOOOOO!

I just had a sudden surge in the force, as if millions of fire fighters all cried out at once.

  • i am confused, why do people call it a motor? its acually a rocket... and just so you know motors use electricity, engines use gas, and rockets use... well rocket fuel....

  • I want a few on my car.

  • Ignition BOOM, the cameras dead....

  • 1:28 Scotty i need more power!

  • want this on my car

  • dear santa

(or I should say in this case, dear congress)

  • mushroom cloud 4:19

  • It doesnt seem to be moving anywhere.

  • now that is what Im talking about, LONG LIVE THE U.S.A.!

  • frainherr von braun wold be proud.

  • Not sure this new flame thrower will be of any practical use on the battlefield.

  • Is it really the sound of the cameras at 1:01?

  • @MrFunk911 No. The commentator got that wrong. The huffing and puffing you hear is the motor's APU (auxiliary power unit) coming to life. You will notice that shortly afterward the nozzle gimbal test starts. That's the APU's main job: allowing steering of the rocket in flight by providing hydraulic pressure to swivel the nozzle and thereby control pitch and yaw...

  • @rss0246 Exactly, we have heard this particular sound for years, coming from the aft of the Space Shuttle, just minutes before launch or when landed, sitting on the runway. Obviously for the same reason. Pressure for hydraulic systems. ;)

  • this is the first stage having 22mio HP

    that are 16200MW

    for 115sec thats 520MW/h

    16000 kilonewtons thrust!

or in other words: a fucking lot of energy!

    holy moly.

  • It looks like it's facing east, doesn't it? Does this mean the days are now a little shorter?

  • @Tjita1 momentum doesnt get lost, ever

as the gases blown away slow down due to contact with solid ground they transfer just the very same momentum back to the earth

  • @Tjita1 HAhahAhAha.

  • no thats a way to roast ur marshmellows! and light a cigarette!

  • Earth needed some orbital correction?

  • Yeah, fuck you, mountainside.

  • "And here you see the beautiful Utah sky....................With a lot of dust"....(awkward silence)

  • That burn time is just amazing

  • haha at 1:15 the engine's looking around like "alright, which part of this hill do i really want to fuck up?"

    1:31 ALL OF IT

  • thats like my ass after eating taco bell

  • When the countdown starts it sounds like some ppl have sex on old bed

  • That's gonna leave a mark...

  • I am wondering if a launch of Ares w/Orion will be as exciting as seeing a Shuttle launch.

  • thats just great for the environment lol

  • that is POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my car has 2 of these

  • Very nice*

  • how did that engine stayed stable with that huge force ???

  • This is chuck norris when he sneezes

  • Amazing engine, crappy sound per NASA usual

  • What do they use for fuel and oxidizer in a thing like that?

  • @Barnekkid Aluminium and ammonium perchlorate

  • Camera 2 had a good view until it boiled.

  • my farts put out more thrust then that thing

  • now earth spins faster :D

  • Watch it from T minus 10 : 1:19

    22 Million Horse power!

    4500 Degrees Fahrenheit

  • @Joeteck It's actually 5,600 degrees.

  • @spacevidcast

I guess the narrator on the video is wrong and you're right... ok...

  • @spacevidcast Actually their was Zero horse power generated during this test because no work was done. Their is no direct thrust to HP conversion unless the motor is doing something like propelling a rocket. Temperature varies 2/1 throughout the motor,7000 to 4000,pick a place.

  • Steam Machine :d

  • Who needs porn?

  • damn, 22 million hp

  • "Sound of the high speed cameras". It's not correct.

It's the APU noise, used for hydraulics system for steer the noozle, thrust vector control.

  • Barbeque ?

  • Shoop Da Whoop

  • I have not even known they are testing motors like that! Great show!

  • I think they move the earth a little bit...

    22Millions Hp :O

  • @XTwina It does seem like that, doesn't it? But there is another alternative; an uncontrolled firing. Static is a bad ting for rockets. Unplanned events are never good when it comes to this sort of thing.

  • @spacevidcast

you can say that again, just ask the Russians.

  • note to self: never go to nasa organized bbq.

  • waste of money

  • @karim7ahsan I agree, but there's also some information gained. It's not necessarily as validating as an actual flight test, but we can learn some things about the resonance and harmonics of this compared to a 4-segment booster.

  • @usnsquirrel lol i was just joking -_- but okay... :)

  • @karim7ahsan ur one of those ppl who dont see the forest because of all that trees in front of them.

  • DAMMIT NASA I WANTED MEDIUM WELL!

  • @jeonzhou There ins't any influence on earth! According to third Newton law, action and reaction must act on two different bodies.

In this case action is on atmosphere (earth) and reaction on earth again. It could be thought as an inner force.

  • I could just imagine someone going "WHAT THE FU-" before the motor goes off.

  • @DJLink4830 i did when i firs watched this

  • Not as elegant as impulse power or warp drive. Must try harder. The Klingons will beat us to the Neutral Zone at this rate.

  • @milekd Who's going to pay for that? The American people surely don't. The vast majority of them think space is stupid, pointless and/or a waste of money. It's disappointing, really.

  • @spacevidcast Perhaps getting rid of the vast numbers of warplanes, other military hardware and military personnell would free up the cash. Why is it neccessary to arm a country to the teeth to defend against an enemy who is not going to invade but is rather more likely to detonate a ruksack full of peroxide explosive on a subway?

  • @spacevidcast And those same people take things the space program has created for granted : fuel cells, laptops, composite materials, GPS, detailed meteorology, live television, robotics, pollution measuring equipment, health monitors, navigation computers, solar arrays, and much more. The billions invested into NASA turns to trillions for the entire planet, and in my mind is the most profitable thing tax dollars can be invested in, not to mention all the jobs created for all those innovations.

  • @NelielTuOderswank Well said! Couldn't agree more! Perhaps you'd consider stopping by spacevidcast's website for the STS-133 launch? It's guaranteed to be a fun time.

  • @NelielTuOderswank Thank you! Someone confides!

  • @NelielTuOderswank and it is for that reason i believe Britain should scrap its aid budget and invest the lot into a space program. the aid budget only goes to countries that don't really need it and is a waste of tax payers money, aid should be left to charities.

  • @NelielTuOderswank Never a true word said, I totally agree with you and you put it eactly as it should be.cheers.

  • @spacevidcast What's wrong with space exploration? They're gonna use our money for stupid stuff anyway; why not use it for something we'll enjoy watching, hearing about, and doing? I love the space program, and I think we should continue to explore and expand our reach. And without the space program, you wouldn't have your computer, because guess what? They invented compact computers for space ships because the couldn't carry huge rooms around. There are more benefits to it than you wanna admit.

  • @spacevidcast Most of there tax dollars are spent on WAR!!!! you tard I hate people who say that bull I would love it IF THEY SPENT 12 TRILLION DOLLARS ON SCIENCE INSTEAD OF WAR!!!! >:D

    12 trilloun = afgan war

  • Now thats what I call a reall BBQ!

  • @NitremArts For what it's worth, the SRB's burn at 5,600 degrees Farenheit. The SSME's (space shuttle main engines) burn at 6,000 degrees Farenheit. Either way, they are both indeed some awesome barbecues. However, the SRB's kick out hydrochloric acid in the presence of moisture. SSME's only produce water vapor. I think I'd rather have that on my burger. ;)

  • Wow =O now we have 500 years less to earth =o.. doesn't matter, i will not here when the end occurs.

i want adapt that Rocket to my bicible =P

  • Necesito un motor así para mi moto, donde lo venden?

  • @ducados57 Utah, USA.

  • My petunias!

  • now thats how you make a volcano

  • Hey, they are trying move the planet? haha

  • @jeonzhou i dont think it's strong enough to move earth at all lol

  • @Dillon1108 Sure it is. It might only be 0.00000000001%, but it does indeed affect the earths rotation. It's the same concept as jumping from a large boat in a lake. You might be many times smaller than it is, but your short exertion of force is enough to cause the boat to move in the opposite direction, even if very slightly.

To give perspective though, the earthquake in Chile in February actually slowed the earth's rotation by a millisecond and shifted the Earth's axis about 3 inches!

  • All that money they put into designing and building that rocket engine, and it looks like they couldn't even get it to move a freakin' inch! Back to the old drawing board, I guess!

  • @BloatedSensations Wow! You're a complete retard.

  • @a2birdcage You're an incomplete retard.

  • What if it takes off? and your like in front of it.

  • @acidfriend47 then you would, like, die... and stuff

  • @jeonzhou it might have knocked off or added a few nano-seconds to the earths 24 hour rotation but that's about it.

  • na cat karin

  • it can make steel boil...

it melted the sand behind to glass...

    22 million horse power..

man, i know what i want for christmas!

  • lol the high speed camera got blown off

  • nice to watch.........but i will have to admit............ i'm glad i don't have to attend that news conference ! lol...............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ! " the engine fired ! it was successful ! now lets go home and watch the game! "

  • Cool!

What he said!! 22 million horse power!!!!

    I just ned 2-3 hundred!

  • Crap!! I live 30 mins from this i missed it!

  • Isn't this just a slightly modified version of the STS solid rocket booster?

  • @studio7manga It's 20% bigger. That's more than "slightly" modified.

  • i was watching when the first attempt failed so it is good so see the motor work
