If they made a movie of this game, during this battle on the destroyed Liberty Isle, wouldn't it be cool if it were raining due to the mitochondrial heat and the December weather acting as a cold and hot front which is what creates rain, and if Aya used a Haste spell and rather than showing Aya running around at super speed, the rain slows down and she moves at normal pace, think about it.

This was the era in where games were just so awesome, music and everything. Haven't been exactly the same, I mean there have been some awesome awesome games out recently, but its just not the same. The music on this game inspired a graphic novel I'm currently working on in a huge way ^_^
I would agree that both Marikos could be the same person (Aya and Maya's mom) but if that were true, Aya would have recieved her powers from her mother Mariko and not from her sister Maya
@MyTruePath The plot was terrible! They completely missed the point of PE. In my eyes, PE2 was a total RE ripoff plotwise. They completely ignored all the side-characters from earlier games. Hell, they even mispelled Klamp's name as Dr. Hans Klump! What the hell was Square thinking?
@LegendPst the plot simply diversifies,in my opinion..yea the gameplay's kinda like resident evil,but still maintains the rpg element..i think its ok if theyre doing it just to experiment new style..afterall, parasite eve itself is unique..more unique than FF series.this involves biology for god's sake haha
@MyTruePath Nah brotha! Kyle aka Leon S. Kennedy wannabe does not need to be in 3rd Birthday. Parasite Eve 2 was terrible!!!! If anyone says I'm high on crack, check Leon's early design for Resident Evil 2 (RE1.5) and you'll see Kyle is based on Leon.
@safoxx It's probably difficult to sync in an actual voiced song during gameplay is why. To have music involve vocals played during the credits is different. It's PSX or PS1 after all. ^^;

@DarthDeslauriers No, this game is technically the SEQUEL to the Book (And the Movie) Parasite Eve. The girl in the movie (Mariko) is Aya Brea's mother in the video game, thus explaining hers and Maya's heightened Mitochondria.
@IvanMaster7 not necessarily. It never states that heightened mitochondria is passed from mother to daughter (although we our mitochondria is from our mothers). Mariko from the novel being Aya and Maya's mother (also named Mariko) could be coincidence. In both Eve instances, the host body (Mariko and Melissa) never contained the original Mitochondria, they received it from liver transplants (from Kiyomi and Maya respectively). Plus Aya was never born with powers. She got it from Maya's cornea.
When I first started playing this one, back when it first hit stores shelves -I was skeptical; but it turned out to be a really intense ride. Music plays a big factor for that, though it was also hard enough to provide some exasperating moments.

@BASTARDUS1MAXIMUS I think many would say that The 3rd Birthday degenerated the PE franchise into a shooter with an overly sexualized protagonist. Aya's passive OE did away with spell-based PE, which for me was sad (I liked selecting "spells" from a menu and casting them). Aya's voice did not seem to fit her. Her character in the game was not the Aya that I knew (the church scene shows us why, however). The story seemed fabricated just for the sake of the game. I still liked it, though :)

I didnt like Kyle in PE2 but they made him more mysterious in 3rd Birthday and they laid off his annoying jokes..... in the beta version of 3rd Birthday he seemed that he was gonna be the bad guy.... and he looked younger too

I like this game, and as for the gun that is a mystery in all RP games. another is how can anyone carry so many items with them, but hey it's a game nothing has to make sense.
Actually that's not a bad idea. Aya would say something like "Let me demonstrate the skill of Shaolin fist" and Eve goes with Tiger style of Kung Fu. Everybody does Kung Fu fighting!
@abysmalvsmarcus Wouldn't that cause them to "melt" because of Aya's rebelling mitochondria? I think that their cells would react against and destroy each other, unless that only happens with the Ultimate Being. Anyhow, I'd like to use this as a reason for why Aya gets damaged just by touching mitochondrial creatures. Makes sense to me...

@MyTruePath The plot was terrible! They completely missed the point of PE. In my eyes, PE2 was a total RE ripoff plotwise. They completely ignored all the side-characters from earlier games. Hell, they even mispelled Klamp's name as Dr. Hans Klump! What the hell was Square thinking?

@LegendPst the plot simply diversifies,in my opinion..yea the gameplay's kinda like resident evil,but still maintains the rpg element..i think its ok if theyre doing it just to experiment new style..afterall, parasite eve itself is unique..more unique than FF series.this involves biology for god's sake haha

@MyTruePath Nah brotha! Kyle aka Leon S. Kennedy wannabe does not need to be in 3rd Birthday. Parasite Eve 2 was terrible!!!! If anyone says I'm high on crack, check Leon's early design for Resident Evil 2 (RE1.5) and you'll see Kyle is based on Leon.

@safoxx It's probably difficult to sync in an actual voiced song during gameplay is why. To have music involve vocals played during the credits is different. It's PSX or PS1 after all. ^^;

@DarthDeslauriers No, this game is technically the SEQUEL to the Book (And the Movie) Parasite Eve. The girl in the movie (Mariko) is Aya Brea's mother in the video game, thus explaining hers and Maya's heightened Mitochondria.

@IvanMaster7 not necessarily. It never states that heightened mitochondria is passed from mother to daughter (although we our mitochondria is from our mothers). Mariko from the novel being Aya and Maya's mother (also named Mariko) could be coincidence. In both Eve instances, the host body (Mariko and Melissa) never contained the original Mitochondria, they received it from liver transplants (from Kiyomi and Maya respectively). Plus Aya was never born with powers. She got it from Maya's cornea.

When I first started playing this one, back when it first hit stores shelves -I was skeptical; but it turned out to be a really intense ride. Music plays a big factor for that, though it was also hard enough to provide some exasperating moments.
Was really glad to play this one.

@BASTARDUS1MAXIMUS I think many would say that The 3rd Birthday degenerated the PE franchise into a shooter with an overly sexualized protagonist. Aya's passive OE did away with spell-based PE, which for me was sad (I liked selecting "spells" from a menu and casting them). Aya's voice did not seem to fit her. Her character in the game was not the Aya that I knew (the church scene shows us why, however). The story seemed fabricated just for the sake of the game. I still liked it, though :)

I mean what's the logical explanation on why the SWAT team would wanna kill Aya in the first place..... maybe they need to release another Parasite Eve or at least a prequel to 3rd Birthday so they explain..... another question is why Eve (Aya's clone) never grew up... should she be an adult by then?

She's supposed to be college age or something, but should look at least ten years younger because of her mutations. The only problem, though, is that she should look like a middle schooler then instead of a little kid. She was probably chosen to look that young in order to preserve her childlike innocence and naivety. For Eve's real age she should look like Aya, which is the case in the ending.

Not to compare Parasite Eve with Metal Gear Solid but Eve is like the opposite of Solid Snake (he goes thru rapid aging in MGS4 while Eve ages slowly) and Aya is kinda like Big Boss in that sense... because Eve was in her early 20's well sort of.... but I see your point....

@BASTARDUS1MAXIMUS The swat team came to kill Kyle not aya because in the 2nd game Kyle made the Hypervelocity gun miss the exact target point so the president ordered to have Kyle killed and its just unfortunate that it was on their wedding day.

I didnt like Kyle in PE2 but they made him more mysterious in 3rd Birthday and they laid off his annoying jokes..... in the beta version of 3rd Birthday he seemed that he was gonna be the bad guy.... and he looked younger too

@BASTARDUS1MAXIMUS i didnt like kyle in PE2 either. I played the 3rd birthday before PE2 and at first i thought he was going to turn out bad but in the end he was good, then i played PE2 and he had me very confused. Overall this is one of the best series ever

@Hackmoune Not to add that Dissidia: Final Fantasy is about Final Fantasy. It is in the title. I don't think that the world of PE should be lumped under a Final Fantasy title anyways. If it was a mash-up of ALL Square games, then I see where it would fit...although I wouldn't mind Aya pumping some emo FF7+ boy full of lead (JK!). However, Aya's world and character does not match that of Final Fantasy (at least in my opinion). Her mitochondria would be incompatible with FF characters' :)

I like this game, and as for the gun that is a mystery in all RP games. another is how can anyone carry so many items with them, but hey it's a game nothing has to make sense.

Actually that's not a bad idea. Aya would say something like "Let me demonstrate the skill of Shaolin fist" and Eve goes with Tiger style of Kung Fu. Everybody does Kung Fu fighting!

@abysmalvsmarcus Wouldn't that cause them to "melt" because of Aya's rebelling mitochondria? I think that their cells would react against and destroy each other, unless that only happens with the Ultimate Being. Anyhow, I'd like to use this as a reason for why Aya gets damaged just by touching mitochondrial creatures. Makes sense to me...
