I am Catholic and i oppose the absurd view that birth control is fundamental to women's rights. Firstly, many forms of birth control kill the embryo which is as human as you and I: the Pill and the IUD do so and are detrimental to women's health too. Children are also seen as a burden. Also if mothers are to go out & have careers the noble work of childcare & maintaining a home is neglected, dumped to strangers & seen as second class. Mothers are supposed to be at home to raise their own kids

From most of the commends in respond to Zainah's words, it only confirmed that some Muslim men are so indoctrinated that they can't hold a decent conversation or debate but are ignorant of what its in the Quran and behaving like a militant bent on bashing any critics of Islam. Islam never oppress women. The fact is Islam respects and protects the rights of women. Even the prophet Muhammad ( peace and blessing be upon him) asked Muslims to treat their wives lovingly, humanely and kindly and respect their rights.
