Ragnarok original was a brilliant game. A masterpiece, if you will. Great gameplay, and original content, generating an experience like nothing else before it. Cool quests, and Epic boss' encouraging you to join parties, and work together, merged together to develop good memories. Thus said, I think people have to realize that, sure, the original and one of a kind visuals of the original game were classic and seemingly timeless, but it has been there for 9 years since. Its time for change.

Gravity clearly has no idea what they are doing. Any 3D rpg that doesn't learn from the significant success of WoW is trash. RIFT is going to dominate all new MMORPG contenders. Only thinking that "Going 3D" is what made WoW good and trying to copy that perceived trend is a big mistake.

it certainly isnt as immersive as ro1...this just goes to show that 3D graphics doesnt mean more immersion

ro1 was better because it made me want to be in the world i was playing hence immersion

plus the background music was breath taking in ro1 really fed into the feel of adventuring

Ro1 was great because it separated itself from the pack - and yes the 2d style was very much apart of the unique feel that Ro1 had, along side with the monsters and gameplay.

I went as far as registering on the korean site (with a walkthrough on how to do it, it was a BITCH!) people were all yelling at me in korean "why u american on here go away!" but I never went away... I LOVE the first RO, was my first mmo and the only 2d/3d game i ever liked. I think RO2 would be good as it OWN game. But i would play this to look at the cities and see them in a more 3d world in a way i couldnt in the 1st game ;D

They're redoing Ragnarok 2 from scratch, subtitled "Legend of the Second". Starts closed beta in Asia in august. It's gonna be a completely new game.

Why they don't just say manga I'll probably never understand) Ragnarök, which was the story about the reborn Balder and Fenris Fenrir (who in the manhwa is reborn as a woman who has a crush on Balder aka Chaos, or something...) while they try to prevent the goddess Freya from... I don't know really but they try to fight her anyhow and encounter her Valkyries over the course of the story.
