  • When i was looking down below her video, (where it says "Rawr!"

She just said "rawr" in the video...<3

Nice job, and you speak English really good.

(I'm 12 years old, just saying...)

  • Ik kom uit Amerika <3

  • Ik kom uit Duitsland en I love to listen to this language. And of course I love your vids ;)

  • hei, you are amazing :) like your videous!

  • Hallo.Where are countries like Slovakia,Czech Republik,Poland,Serbia or China ? :D This video is ok.Thumbs up for Vietnam.

  • @RadoRadimir

    Slovakia = Slowakije

    Czech Republic = Tsjechie

    Poland = Polen

    Serbia = Servie

    China = China

  • philippines is pronounced as filippijnen isn't it?

  • @kimrayjung12 Almost right :) Filipijnen. It's pronounced as fielipijne(n), it can be annoying sometimes because the "biet" vowel is sometimes written the same as the "bit" vowel, like here. Most of the Dutch people don't pronounce the final n.

  • @xalesd2 Thanks alot! :-D

  • Im From SWEDEN and i saw you put a " <3 "

  • Venezuela??? :(

  • Your videos are great. I'm spending a few months in the Amsterdam area from March, simply because I have a bit of spare time between jobs here in the UK and I really like the Netherlands and its way of life. I'd love to learn some more Dutch while I'm there, though whenever I've visited, locals immediately switch to English upon realising I'm British. I've a lot of respect for your widespread multilingualism, but how would you recommend I counteract this so I can practice my Dutch?

  • @dabillybombom I think the best strategy is to just tell people you'd like them to speak Dutch :) Lots of people come across this problem, though. I guess we love showing off our language skills a little too much.

  • holland!!!!! wilhelmus vaaaan nasauwe ben ik van duitse bloed :)

  • Oh, BTW, @dutchforn00bs , I've heard many times while searching on the net about dutch that the dutch hate or don't like it when you call the netherlands, holland. Is that true and how did this come about that people called your country holland?

  • @ZeldaWindWaker50 Holland is an area in the Netherlands (Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland are 2 of our provinces). It's been the most populated, and economically most successful part of the country for a few centuries now, which (I think) is why lots of people know the entire country as Holland. I don't mind either name, but it's true that some people don't like Holland as a name.. since they don't really live there :) It's similar to telling a Scottish person he lives in England.

  • Whoooo! Thanks for the heart by Sweden!

    Vi älskar dig med! <3

  • Hallo. Hoe gaat het? Alles goed? Hoe zit het met Brazilië? Ik kan niet geloven dat je zo'n groot land vergeten!

  • @666bruxinha

It kinda like belgium (Belgie). So that makes, Brazil = Brazilie. Bra - zi - li - e.

In sounds: Brrrr (as in being cold and shaking) - ah (suprised) - zi (as in new ZEAland) - lee (chinese name) - uh (like you're thinking realy hard)

  • @wh0ei AHMM...... thank u very much !!! =o *trying to say that*

  • @666bruxinha yes brazili-e with the dots!!

  • Arer you real from Holland?

Hi btw, Ik ben Nederlands XD

  • @dutchforn00bs toch leuk om eens een andere nederlander tegen te komen die zonder dat afschuwelijke nederlandse accent engels praat ;-) as i felt it would be appropriate to end this comment in english, i just wanted to say, keep up the good work!

  • @dutchforn00bs beter

  • Actually, this ain't a hard language at all, BTW, dutchforn00bs, really nice video and I commented on your other video. I commented again. Sorry. But, have you learned german? Because the two languages are very similar. Like Frankrijk (Dutch) and Frankreich (German) sound exactly the same. Try learning German if you're a pro at dutch. I'll keep watching so I can learn Dutch.

  • @ZeldaWindWaker50 I did 5 years of German in school, but don't speak it very well. I can pretty much understand written German, though :) (unless it's, like, scientific or something).

  • @ZeldaWindWaker50 Dutch and German are almost the same . Some German words does look like Dutch words . In the most times it means the same . If you rule Dutch , you can rule German too ^^ German won't be difficult for you then :D btw , i'm Dutch :)

  • I love these lessons! I'm from Sweden, and i'm actually thinking about studying Dutch next year... seems like a really fun language!

Do you know any swedish? Just asking since i noticed that you put a heart after "Sweden" in the video :D

  • @xSebzx I know *some* Swedish, because I was learning it for a while.. but I kinda stopped :)

  • @dutchforn00bs Aww okay, that's a shame! You could teach me dutch, and i could teach you swedish then! :D

Why did you stop trying to learn Swedish if i may ask? Oh and yeah, a follow-up question: Have you ever actually been to Sweden? :>

  • @xSebzx I only started learning Swedish because I took a year off from school (between high school and uni), and I got super frustrated not learning things :D So then when I did start uni about a year ago, I had enough other stuff to think about/learn and I stopped :)

I have been to Sweden! Just for about a week, though.

  • how do you say my country INDONESIA...

  • @biji46 Indonesië

  • Ik kom uit Mexico en ik hou echt van je video's :)

although the word spell almost the same.. but the sound is totally different@@

enjoying yr teaching, but i should say it's een beetje different of Nederladns' Dutch and Belgium's Dutch!!

  • How can i say Brazil / Brazilian??

    Ps.: i'm loving your videos!

i'm gonna go to the netherlands next yer for a year, and i'm lerning with your videos!

    =)

  • @thaisdalloz2 Brazilië!

  • hoooi~ ;D geen Hongrije :( but whatsoever XD thanks for the explanation about ie with the dots, damn I cant type it XDD I read about it in my language book but your explanation made it clear! :D

  • I did not think Dutch was this hard to speak! D:

now i dont really wanna live in The Netherlands for a year now haha , but i really want to

  • @reyesn7y It's not that hard at all! Is English your mother tongue? If so, then Dutch is easy! Just because it seems hard doesn't mean it is, happy hunting ^^

  • hey can you make a video talking about Dutch cities and their pronunciations? what about the different regions and dialects?

  • als je het zo ziet, lijken de nederlandse namen best veel op de engelse

  • are you swedish (assumed for the heart)? I going for Netherlands for one year and I am Swedish . Is it possible to learn tspeaking Dutch in a year? Learning languages isnt really my strongest subject. :/

  • @harboee No, I'm Dutch (see flag. and the language I'm speaking). The heart for Swedish was because I was learning Swedish at the time :D As for learning Dutch in a year.. because Swedish and Dutch are pretty similar, it should be possible to get a good grasp of written Dutch in a couple of months. Learning to speak it, though, is a lot harder. I think if you study really hard, and practice a lot it should be possible to understand&talk to people in a year :)

  • The funny thing is; teaching someone standard Dutch is not really efficient. No problem if you go to the Netherlands, but it is if you go to Flanders.

There are even separate courses on how to speak West-Vlaams... :) Otherwise newly immigrants wouldn't understand a thing, even with perfect Dutch!

"Ik kom uit" would be in West-Vlaanderen " 'k Bennekik van"...

  • Engeland? The German word "Engel" means "angel" in English.

  • @SammyTheHedhehog In Dutch it does, too :D The word "eng" means "scary", though, so.. you know :D

  • Hi there just wanted to ask what south africa is because in afrikaans its suid afrika (i know s in afrikaans similar to your z)

  • @alexveeuk It's Zuid-Afrika :)

  • @dutchforn00bs baie dankie vir jy help

  • @alexveeuk South africa in dutch is Zuid Afrika. So if you say the s is a z in afrika then your saying it the same way as in Holland. :)

  • @sannetussch22 ahh i see also funny we use y instead of an ij which you guys use haha. so hij is hy interesting anyway baie dankie

  • @alexveeuk Afrikaans and Dutch is actually the same language but the difference is that Afrikaans is actually something like a dialect from the Dutch language. In Holland everyone can speak Dutch but not perfectly. This is because of Dialects. So Dutch is nothing more then the basic language in Holland and then every region also has it's own dutch (dialect) I live in the east and our Dialect can be used in Germany.

  • How do you say Israel in Dutch..?

thank you !! btw, love your videos - you're awesome :)

  • @assafon71 We just say Israel! :D

It's very similar to German and it has some English phrases....so yay :D!

  • Hallo~~ How shall we say China? - - why never include China in?? I feel jealous~~

  • @zconey We write China, pronounced (in english) sort of like Sheena :)

  • I see a heart after sweden like <3. Are you swedish or related somehow to people from this country?

  • @hassanfakiri Not really. I have Swedish friends, but mostly I was trying to learn Swedish when recording that :D Have sort of.. stopped now, though, because summer holidays + uni happened.

  • @dutchforn00bs Oh ok. im all norwegian and I felt watching Norway without a heart at the end of it made me jealous LOL! Im learning Dutch and I like Amsterdam alot, going there in May :-)
