  • the trouble i had finding this song, its so precious to me, cant believe they were from my country, town. This is huge news to a massive music fan

  • Tonight, the 6th of October 2011, they launch the 31st Blues Live Festival in Jyväskylä in Finland!

  • Savage \m/

  • Oh No, .... an extension to mack 89464's comment,...please tell your uncle he made a lot of people happy when the band died out quite swiftly and were resigned to the darkest regions of collective memory

  • managed by Louis Walsh back in the day

  • My band is actually working with the keyboardist of this band, recording our first EP in Nashville.

  • lead singer play with the Glitter Bugs

  • Can we not post links here? Anyway, search myspace for david9lunas, and that's the chap

  • @usernooome I think its a youtube link issue not something I have locked down on the channel. Thanks - I'll check out Davids page :-)

  • You can find the guitarist playing around London. Doing some amazing stuff - nothing like No Sweat, but outstanding. Goes by the name David 9. There was some of it online somewhere but I can't find it now

  • im also trying to trace jon edward angel!! (bass player) i was with jon for a while in 1991 while touring here sadly lost touch and i have a desire to get hold of them all

  • @sallywally73 - You can find him at jeaproductions I've done Gigs as Bassist for his Bands the Glitterbugs and Funky Nights which he organises and Manages. They do Weddings & stuff.

  • KILCOCK...........................YEAH!!!!!!!!!

  • its nice how amazon has these guys, blue tears, pretty maids, shark island, and so many hard rock and hair metal bands of the 80s and early 90s. some sick great ass music.

  • I'd hardly consider this 'classic rock'--based on time passed or otherwise. Actually, very little of that period's mainstream pop/rock music still stands up today.

  • @jannyrcobs anything 20 years or older since it was released is considered to be classic rock but i agree on how this is not classic, thats zeppelin and the doors. this id put it at what you said.

  • Hahhaa omgggg .....change channel change channell!!

  • These guys were amazing live, saw them on tour with Little Angels-brilliant match up

  • These guys were amazon live, saw them on tour with Little Angels-brilliant match up

  • Hi, anyone know where any members of the band got to, especially Jim? He sure was one for the ladies back in the day and I was one of a few to have a fling with him in the early 90s. Curiosity leads me to wonder what he and the others are up to. I've heard some rumours but from an unreliable source and other info on band whereabouts are not entirely up to date! I just wonder if Jim is still a rogue or is it true he married!

  • ii loved this band............................

  • Ireland never really cracked the 80's big hair rock thing. We should have. This was great but this, Winters Reign, The Elite, Qed, all fell short of the 'big time'. Ireland has hit the big time with every other genre except 80's stadium rock.

  • @wiltner all good bands.good post.

  • Brilliant

  • Wonder if that stylist first in the clip is German Marlene Kunold, looks a bit like her...

  • The album is still one of my favourites - On The Edge is my favourite track but seriously its all still great!

  • The album is still one of my favourites - On The Edge is my favourite track but seriously its all still great!

  • i went to school with the brother of the singer..........rolly smith u mad fucker

  • blondie in this band still has ma jeans

  • ma boys

  • Have this on 12inch vinyl

  • Love this song!! Classic or wat!

  • the bass player is in a band called the glitterbugs

  • I remember being unimpressed by this when they appeared on one of those Saturday morning kids` tv magazine shows on RTE in the late `80s. Not surprised they got nowhere. It takes more than having the right hairdos and posing around to make it big. This song was boringly derivative and cliched. They`d have needed a more original sound, rather than just trying to rip-off the likes of Bon Jovi or Def Leppard, bands who already had the market sown-up anyway.

  • God this is just as awful as I remembered it when I was a kid..

  • id love to get a copy of this can anyone help please

  • ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A COPY OF THIS

  • i still have their album whoohooo i loved these guys

  • re release this

    no1 no problem

  • Aah, sadly, they've disbanded. I don't know when, but I have it on pretty good authority; my guitar teacher was nearly in this band but they split about a week before he was set to join. :(

Does anybody know if they did another album

  • fantastic song...stumbled on it on 2fm and had to hear it over and over again...love it!

  • good

  • Absolutely class, brings back great memories, wish it was played more on the airwaves. Does anyone know where you can download this?

  • anyone know where in can get a copy of this ,im desperate at this stage and does anyone remember the dublin band swim they released an album called sundrive road in 1989 and released a few singles called i believe and rachael ????????

  • Jonahs Bar, Leopardstown...Ahh the memories. Thanks for the vid :)

  • class act, i saw them in the SFX back in the day supporting thunder - they blew the headliners away who were so pissed off they did no encore!! the place was all there to see No Sweat - they had great potential

  • id love to geat a copy of this or the album

    anyone help

  • WTH is the BeatBox? xP

  • @koczwizloteziarno the beatbox was a tv show in late 1980's early 1990's in ireland. It played music videos on sundays

  • ...if dis song was anything 2 go by,(& I thought/think it's really good) shud've done mor; & actually it keeps poppin' in2 me head every so often. *2fm(RTE) also played dat song a couple of dayz ago*

  • they playd tha song on the radio to day on 92fm we should call in and request ther song and make them a com back haha

  • Can anyone tell my if there exist an album with Connor's voice on it. In Belgium they aren't known.

  • Wow, my uncle was a guitarist in this band =]

  • Great! Please tell your uncle he made a lot of people very happy.

  • I will :)

  • @mack8946YES VERY GOOD

  • no way weird my dad said he knew them well ask him does he no jim crockford

  • Yeah, he was living in Tenerife for quite a while making music with his then girlfriend, not this kinda music though, but he's back in the UK now

  • Haha you only finding that out now? Which guitarist?

  • david gooding

  • @xIzzyMIDNIGHTx Who was your uncle?

    this is very important

  • @xIzzyMIDNIGHTx

then your uncle was a guitarist in one of the best bands of their time, it was a great shame they never went further.

I remember seeing them opening for Little Angels, i'd never even heard of them but their set blew me away-best support band i have seen ever!

    even better when headlining

  • @SidecarJon1

Connor Mckeon know where it is now ...???

  • @xIzzyMIDNIGHTx

Connor Mckeon know where it is now ...???

  • @xIzzyMIDNIGHTx can you tell me how to get in touch with him ? we are tring to get a No Sweat Reunion going here in dublin i think i might have a hold on Dave Gooding the crazy black dude ! i you'st to knock around with them in the 80s/90/s please let me know man ! Cheers dude !

  • @xIzzyMIDNIGHTx My cousin was the drummer, Declan Morrell, he's from County Offaly in Ireland. Small world!

  • i'm glad to say i have this cd in my collection...one of my favs!

  • great band is that the original singer? when I saw then the singer looked a little older. Used to sing with another great Dublin band called Gypsy and went onto Mamas Boys too.

  • the keyboardist is jon bon jovi (Giovanni Francis Bongiovani, Jr.) and the guitarist is Slash (Saul Hudson) before they changed bands.

  • LOL i didnt know Jon Bon Jovi was in No Sweat......

  • You are way off!!

  • Has anybody got the lyrics or chords?

  • just found paul quinn on my space he is starting up again. he has great songs there.

  • great AOR. thanks for posting.

  • These guys SHOULD definatly reform and SHOULD be playing with Def Lepard, Whitesnake and Journey in the O2 this Summer (09), this sound is so comming back, they are great musicians if you ask me, and probably still are!! Come on lads!

  • Ya that would be good if you could convince des w garrett to come back otherwise it would be a waste of time, they would have made it if he had have been with them instead of that pretty boy, that john cottack replaced on this album!go the arklow

  • this band should have been huge!!! but so many record companies jumped on the grunge bandwaggon.its a shame i went to see them at newcastle riverside and they were great. got pissed off when i missed them coming back up cos thunder supported them before they did donington.

  • Loved this band - saw them in the Sportsmans Inn Tuam Sep 88 - was really a great gig - great energy and attitude. They probably came along maybe 2-3 years too late for their style of music. Had they been around in 86 they could have made it huge. They just came out when grunge was becoming fab hip and groovy. Jon Angel is still involved in the music scene in Dublin - at least he was up to maybe 2 years ago. Mainly cabaret type acts I think. Would love to hear these guys playing together again.

  • f@ckin' awesome song! AOR is the best!!!!!!!! Long live the 80s!!!!

  • Oh.

    My.

    God.

I havent heard this in SO long.

    Thanks for posting!

  • to many ego,s all in one band great lads i worked as roaddie for them and yes Joe elliot tried so hard to give them every chance to make it

  • And when you think that the only member of No Sweat who is still now today making a proper living outa Music is the original Singer, Connor MeKeon. I used to play in a band with Connor B4 he joined No Sweat. Great Singer. And yes.. too many egos

  • Hey Thrasher657, I'd heard that Jim was making a living out of music too, producing and writing somewhere, but my source on that is somewhat biased and unreliable - don't suppose you know anything about him or what he is up to?! I loved this band in the 80s but feel the music has dated a little in retrospect. Don't get me wrong, I still love it for what it is and the nostalgic value of it, naggins before the gigs and the groupie crew - just brilliant...

  • cannot beat cock rock. Top tune

  • great under rated lp !

  • saw them in the old baggot inn in the early 80s . pure class. i think joe elliott helped them out.

  • awesome band very underated

    listen to

    shake

    stay

    onthe edge

    teardown the walls

    mover

  • Boreing, sounds like background music to a movie.

  • its background music for my life! AOR rules!

  • This was a band I really wished had done a second album. Saw them live supporting Thunder (remember them?) and they were really good. I have the CD of this album and still love it. There's a track on the album called Stay which is awesome - look it up. Thanks for posting this video.

  • I was clearing out old tapes today and came across the album,id totally forgotten about them.Brings back memories though,i saw them in the Arklow Bay wayyyyyy back and Paul kept calling me over to talk to him but i had a lift waiting for me and had to go :(

  • Seen these guys in The Town and Country club,Kentish town around 1990

    Brilliant!

Had a cassette of the album but only have the case now

    Bollocks

  • Anyone got a copy of Tear down the walls that they could post? I know it used to be on YouTube, would love to see it again...

  • i havent heard this song since i was 16 still good

  • I'm living in Sydney now but often think of this band and the night I saw them live at McGonagles in Dublin with my 3 mates. We were standing at the back of the room and I look 'round and there's Joe Elliott of Def Leppard right beside me. I nearly died! What a night - what a memory!

  • Anyone know what Paul Quinn is up to these days?

  • Paul works as a Painter, he played a gig a few years ago as a solo artist its a pity he doesnt do more, I knew paul from school,

I was looking for this song to play at an 80's night we are having, it is very nostalgic.

  • Do you mean an artist type painter or the kind that will paint your house? Would like to think it is the artistic one!! no offence to painter and decorators intended! Wonder if he still lives in Kilcock.

  • i would love to get hold a copy of this, does anyone have it,ill pay whatever it costs, this was one of the best irish rock songs ever

  • great song . the guitar player reminds me of Macalpine at least he looks alike in this video.that of course looks only but very thight playing nonetheless

  • I haven't heard these guys since I was in Jr. High! Good stuff.

  • Anyone got 'tearin down the walls' ?

    I loved that track.. :o)

  • I have an mp3 of the track if you're interested! Don't have any kind of video for it though.

  • An mp3 is better than nothing at all, thats very nice of you thank you and yes i'd love it. :-D

  • This was a hit in Ireland in the summer of 1989. Great memories, great song!

  • great old tune ,where are they now

  • awhhh love dis song paul smiths my uncle so proud of them...they could have been big im tellin ya

    x

  • Jaysus - this stuff was dated even when it was released!

  • Thanks so much for posting this video!

I went to school with the singer Paul Quinn, wonder what he's doing now? He ate, slept and drank music 24/7..

  • OMG Can't believe this is on here! Just sat & sang my head off - great voice! Got it on vinyl somewhere :-)

  • i loved that band, saw them in the marquee in london the orignal drummer was awsome,The drummer in this video is crap, and was sacked by the record company when the band went to america to record their only album. The drummer from Kingdom Come did the drums on the album, then ray fein joined for the tours.ray is not really a rock drummer he plays with donal lunny now i think!

  • i'm a bit young to remember the music, but i do remember meeting the lads when they were on holidays in Tuam in Pat Smith's house on gilmartin rd, i was only around 7 or 8, if even that, thought it was great to have famous people in tuam

my grandad, Larry, lived 2 doors down from Pat's house, my aunt Breda & uncle mike 3doors down

i remember one of the lads getting dreads put in his hair, and Mrs Smith asked if i wanted them in mine!

  • great song

  • Connor Mc Ruled this singer 100%.No Contest. Why? Bcoz Connor sung with "GYPSY" Dublin's true aor hard rock band from the 80's.

  • ahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • 80's rock era is from 1980-1991 or so :)

  • Interesting to see the Point Depot while it was being converted.

  • PJ is my next door neighbour if anyone is interested.

  • Tell Him HI! and I hope he's doing alright. He was a lovely guy, can't imagine he's changed at all.

  • I know the Bassist John E Angel quite well. He manages a few bands at the moment such as the Glitterbugs, the Boogie All-Stars and Funky Nights. They're cover Bands that do Parties, Weddings etc.

  • Hi, you said you know Jon, just wondering do you know any of the rest of the band cos was trying to look one or two of them up. I'd heard Dave was not doing so good (hope that's wrong information!) and that Jim was producing in the States and was married with kids. Had a bit of a crush at the time I do admit and would love to send a hello to him and some of the others. Any info would be appreciated!

  • I bumped into Dave Gooding in London last December. We'd never met before that but I said hi to him. He was delighted that I knew John as they'd lost touch a while ago. I passed John's Phone Number onto him. PJ Smith is living and working in LA now (he has his own Website) and I think most of the rest are in the USA.

  • As for Dave not doing well, I don't think thats true. He seemed in very good Spirits when I met him.

  • Thanks for the info, really appreciate it! Will check out PJs site. Glad Dave seems to be doing ok, goes to show you shouldn't listen to some people, I heard he was not doing so well from a former groupie of the band, she practically made out that he was living rough or had had some kind of breakdown! Think she was one of those groupies who sided with Jim though when the band split so may have a bit of grudge, I dunno. Thanks again mate!

  • Hi Nickey, PJ is my cousin, he's living in LA, married with a beautiful wife and kids. He was back in Ireland in April and we hooked up for a few pints, he's in great form, still playing and writing. He has a MySpace and website. All the best.

  • OMG! Talk about a blast from the past! My friend Kate and I did just about every tour they went on. We followed tham all around the UK and had a blast! Oh the joys of being young! If any of you who know them, see them, say a huge hi from Lesley!

  • as i said in comment a few months back still in touch with connor he is doing good now still in music check his site out . not rock and roll but doing a bit of swing very good at it as well . i also hear pj doing ok out in santa monica as well so r the rest of them. but wot happen to the drummer declan that i dont know .if u need connors site send me a e mail and i send it too u

  • Wow, I am shocked to find this gem! Now this is great stuff and wish there was more around. ;)

  • I remember that their record was produced by Joe Elliot from Def Leppard...

  • nah, was produced by Keith Olson. Joe gave them much backing though

  • thats pj my cousin, cool to see this video again its been a while, still a class song, they should re-release it xx

  • do you know where i can get the album on cd i am in co meath ireland

  • This band was great when it was fronted by Connor Mc Keown.

  • great 90s rock mate thanks

  • LOL!!

  • fucking great band knew the lads well when they live in leyton' they played the local boozer the lord clyde were i was the rock dj there. met up with the old singer conner 2 years back in dublin.

  • The singer has some great set of pipes on him!

Does anyone know if he still sings or performs. This is a great song - really fantastic.

  • Connor still preforms he is doing a big band swing show now. he is at conormckeon dot com

  • Holding a copy of their CD album in my hand right now. It's very hard to get hold of. Last time I looked on the net it was selling for £45 for the CD. Glad I bought it all those years ago now !! I'm still looking for the mpg or avi of the second version of the video. I have it on VHS but am having trouble converting it !!!

  • These lads were the best.Still have their tape always playing it.DOES anyone have their album on cd.WOULD LOVE TO GET IT.Paul Quinn used to live down the road from my granny.Saw them in the sfx. Please help me find their album.

  • Spidey - I'm also trying to get their album on CD. Keep me posted if you manage to locate a copy.

  • dude you can buy the cd off amazon, thats where I got mine.

  • Remember both videos on the Beatbox on network 2. Ian Dempsey was the presenter with a great big mullet. I was only about 8 but i can remember doing air guitar to this and queen just before freddie died if my memory serves me right!!

  • Great sounding band. My dad has a tape of thier stuff somewhere. Unfortunately the seemed to have fallen into obscurity.

  • I remember that video (the 2nd one). Great song, no personality killed the band though!

  • This is the first version, #1 in Ireland and produced by Joe Elliott of Def Leppard. That second video was the re-recorded version from the album, with the album cover painted on that flatbed truck going up and down an airfield runway.

  • Hey man, I saw a different video for this song were they are on a big truck trailer followed by helicopters playing " heart and soul you cant believe it!!!! ". And in that video the lead singer has longer hair, so I suppose its after this clip.. Great song!

  • I remember that clip! It was awesome! Very Unique, having them play on top of the big truck - I think I saw it on the ITV Chart Show, back in 1991!!!

  • Nice clip, these guys was one of the rocking bands of the late 80's.
